A rainy Saturday afternoon in Dublin and all you want to do is sit down and have some comfort food. We spotted Alponte in Duke St.. Very small upstairs with room only for six diners but can take 20 downstairs. Welcomed by a very friendly waitress and shown to the only remaining seats upstairs. We shared a starter of wings which was very tasty, my partner ordered the beef lasange and I the pasta of the day which was a Penne Bolognaise. Both were excellent and were accompanied by the house red which was a Chilian Shiraz. Finished off by one tea and one expresso Total cost 46.85. We will be back. They do take aways.
