Group of 5 friends, we decided to try the newly refurbished Toddy's and what a joy! There was lots of room and no wait for a table. The food is excellent and the service was 1st class, very attentive. I would highly recommend Toddy's as a venue for a meal or just a quiet drink with some friends. We will be back soon.

Avoid this place. The food is not good for the prices charged. Burnt pork chop and over cooked rib eye steak. Desert was tasteless. Would never go back.

Ate there at 6.30 on Thursday and had very efficient waitress in restaurant to right of door, we were in a hurry and requested food and bill to be brought simultaneously, which happened. She was very pleasant and seemed to be engaged in her job

I have eaten in Toddy's on many an occasions, and I have always found it to be quite pleasant. The most recent occasion was for lunch with a couple of friends. Firstly the service is quite good from the wait staff, Toddy's is always quite busy and the staff do try and ensure that they take your order promptly and quickly, however the wait time from time of order to time of eating can seem like a bit of an ordeal. The food itself is lovely, there is a good bit of variety on the menu and the vegetarian option is actually quite lovely, taking the form of a wild mushroom risotto. The food is prepared very well, aesthetically is open for a small bit of improvement but it is quite delicious and the portion size is great. My only concern is the price. For what the food is like it seems ever so slightly overpriced, however it is in the charming surroundings of the gresham hotel, and located right in the heart of the city centre so I suppose this is to be expected. That said however, we did have a lovely lunch, and I will be returning again, definitely one of the nicer options in the area.

This was the first time I had eaten here and it was enjoyable, if not fantastic. The best thing about our visit was the lovely waitress. She was a Dublin lady and nothing was too much trouble for her. The food was fairly basic and the portions were huge, too big really, and while the food was nicely cooked, it was a bit tasteless. The best thing at the table was the pate with brioche. Only one of us had dessert and that crumble was good. Wines by the glass were reasonable but not very exciting. There was a film premiere in the Savoy next door, so the place was busy. I'd say it might have been a bit quiet on a normal day.

We don't normally go to the same restaurant two nights in a row, we like to try different places. But we were short for time before a concert. We were both happy with the previous nights dinner,so we had no worries.I went for the rib eye steak with baked potato. It was served up well.My wife went for the salmon, she didn't pass any on to my plate to try.(it must have been too tasty). We both enjoyed our meal and will call back some time.P

Called in on the way to the theatre. Service was brisk but when we wanted the bill we had to wait ages. This really annoys me. Foodwise I had a soup starter whilst my friend had prawns., The brown bread with the soup was lovely. For mains I had a turkey sandwich. This was alright but the bread was a bit dried out. My mate had a chicken curry which she described as bland. I had a sticky toffee pudding which was supposed to have had a whiskey sauce,. I couldn't taste any whiskey. My mate had a bread and butter pudding which she liked. Overall okay but I dont know if I would rush back.

I brought my grandmother and mother here recently for mothers day. I chose this place mainly for convenience as my grandmother can't walk very far and she is a very fussy eater (traditional Irish meat and 2 veg kind of person). The experience was rather uninteresting, food is bland, seriously overpriced and service is so-so. My brother ordered steak sandwich at a whopping €13.95. You would at least expect some chips with it but no it came with a pitiful side salad of lettuce. I got the soup and ordered the cajun chicken wrap as well. Lucky I did as the soup came in the smallest bowl ever and with the smallest sliver of brown bread which tasted like it came from a bought loaf. It was bland and lacked any form of seasoning. My Cajun chicken wrap contained about 3 pieces of chicken and was packed with lettuce and peppers. My cousin got the tagliatelle with mushrooms which she described as woeful and unappetizing. This place is so overprices for the area as there are so many lovely Italian and Asian restaurants around, if only my grandmother could widen her taste buds a bit we could have enjoyed those. Safe to say we shall never return. Its enough to be ripped off as a tourist in another country but on home turf it leaves an even bitterer taste in my mouth.

Toddys has been revamped in the last couple of years and has a lovely atmosphere looking out to O'Connell Street , you are able to people watch in between courses. Our starters consisted of Prawn Cocktail and Cesar Salad, both were generous portions and very tasty. For mains I had lamb chops with peppercorn sauce and a portion of chips, partner had sirloin steak veg and potatoes. The food was well presented and served by very friendly and helpful staff. I know we are lovers of spicy and foreign food but sometimes it is nice just to go back to basics and have plain ordinary food, cooked well in lovely surroundings and Toddys was just the right place for this. Prices were in keeping with todays economic climate.

I went here with 2 work colleagues for a quick pre christmas lunch. The snow was starting to blizzard again so speed was of the essence. My colleagues had soup and a salmon bagel and I had a turkey sandwich and we had some wine too. Service was very quick and friendly and food was lovely and fresh. Bill was reasonable and our overall impression was that we would definitely visit again when we had more time to enjoy!

The steak has got bigger but the price has gone through the roof, Its a pity as we ate here quite a bit but its not value for money anymore, there are better quality restaurants around cheaper, after all Toddys is just pub grub... Tried the fish as a steak is now €25, that was not much to write home about, wouldnt make me go back. wine has also increased more that the 50c government charge, Toddys are taking advantage and just lost two regular customers, lets see all the empty seats in a few months !!

I was pleasantly surprised at this place. I really thought the Gresham had had its day because the last time I was there a few years ago, it was really awful. However, we stumbled in here before Christmas as we were taking the children to Great Expectations in the Gate. We ordered coffees and the children had fries. The atmosphere was rather more grand than the last time and considerable renovation has taken place in the hotel. The staff were efficient and friendly. Definitely will be back.
