Denied entry and service because we had a baby with us. Could not believe it, possibly the rudest staff I have ever met, my family will certainly not be returning here ever again.

Having dropped in the other day for a double-expresso I got to meet the rudest lady behind the counter. I expressed reservations about the expresso as it was not an expresso at all and I brought it back and was exceedingly polite about it. She told me to stand there and watch her make it again. I could not believe my ears as her tone was rotten. I did so and again a thing that was NOT a double expresso came back and I left disgusted.

We visited the tea rooms on a sunny Saturday afternoon, the lines for the zoo were enormous as per usual so we thought it would take some time to get some food. I was very surprised that we got a table outside straight away and had ordered the food within 10 minutes of arriving. They can be slow but it’s a park you are not in any rush! I had the vegetarian Panini which came with a small side salad and a coffee. The Panini was ok, nothing too special but the coffee was quite good. It is a really cute tea room and we will visit again.

This is a lovely little place to enjoy the park, especially like today sitting outside in the sun. There is a carton provided for water for dogs and this is most welcome in the warm weather. The inside is quite small especially as you have to que through the centre of the room through the main door. It is always busy ath this time of year but the service is not great as the staff find it hard to move around. There are plenty of seats outside and much more room. We had 2 filter coffees and scones with cream & jam which were very nice and very reasonable. Coffees are only €2 each. Its nice that customers interact with each other and this gives a nice atmosphere. If only the staff would follow suit it would be great.

I regularly go to this restaurant after a jog or long walk....it's the only one, its convenient and cute. As a regular, the staff have yet to strike a smile or greet me in an amicable manner. This does not bother me however, just amuses me. The positive atmosphere is created by the other customers, who have just been out enjoying the park....most definitely not the staff. The facility is not suitable for families, it is too small. There is very little seating and often I happily share my table with other customers. It was particularly busy the Thursday just gone and I was trapped inside a corner. I asked the waiter if he would mind refilling my coffee, as I would be forced to disturb three groups of customers as I tried to navigate my way out of my corner. He refused. Conscious that I didn't want to disturb the other tables, I remained there without a coffee till they finished. You pay well above average for food and drinks here and while the quality is good, the price most definitely warrants a better service and a smile! One other thing, they close the restaurant early, if they feel that they are not getting enough custom. I was told this by the lady behind the service counter. In other words, don't rely on the published opening hours.

My experience in the Tea Rooms yesterday has motivated me to join Menupages to write this review. This establishment is neither child or family friendly, which is astonishing considering its location ( across the road from Dublin Zoo). Buggies are not allowed inside, which I can understand as it is very small, however they only provide one high chair, I was with my father and two children. My father had to try to manage my two children while I had to fold down our two strollers and leave them outside in the rain, not once did a member of staff offer assistance, in fact three of them stood behind the counter watching me. When I enquired if they had a second high chair they turned their back on me and ignored the question, I took that to mean no they did not. We ordered drinks and cakes, only then to discover that they do not accept laser or credit card! We ate quickly and left as it was quite obvious that we were not the kind of clientele they wanted. To be fair the food was quite nice but the service was a disgrace, I found their attitude to children and families hostile at best. Based on my experience of the tea rooms I would not recommend it to any families, we certainly did not feel welcome there.

Cutest Tea Rooms in the beautiful setting of the Phoenix Park and next to Dublin Zoo. Food is home cooked and always delicious. We regularly eat here, particularly enjoy their homemade scones and coffee after a jog or walk in the Park. Their homemade soups are delicous, served with large chunks of delicious bread. Lovely variety of pastries, soups, sandwiches

I f you are ever in the Phoenix Pk it is just a MUST that you visit the Tea Rooms - they are deceptive from the outside, as there are quite a few tables (of 4) inside. The serve hot and cold food - their homemade soups are just fab for this time of year, served with homemade brown bread, nice and filling too. They also have quite a variety of hot foods too. But their cakes OMG just fab! You will soooo be tempted so get a good walk in before you drop in, and you'll enjoy them even. It's even quite toastie inside. I really like this place for dropping in anytime during the day even if it's jsut ofr Tea and scones!!!
