I was really pleasantly surprised here. Although it's cheaper not to use the early bird, the mains are reasonably priced. The service was excellent and the food was very tasty, and well presented. I will definitely go back.

Went after work and was pleasantly surprised. We both shared a portion of chicken wings which were delicious. We both had the fish and chips for mains. Lovely big portions. The batter was crispy and light, the perfect foundation for a few pints to follow. The selection of beers on draught was good... the atmosphere was lively and the colour schemes and interior design gave it authentic rustic feeling, almost like an American bar. Very cool place. Great value. I'll be back again for sure.

Our group had an Excellent evening in Mc gettigans last night. The venue is very convenient for Connolly station. The food and service was excellent and our waiter David couldn't have been more helpful. Venue is light, airy and comfortable. Only advice is not to sit near the door as it can be quite draughty.

what can I say other than fabulous food, amazing service and attention to detail is second to none. Both and my boyfriend came away stuffed but in the stodgy way - portion sizes were big but not "American" sized which was perfect. Staff were attentive but not intrusive. Would definitely recommend McGettigans to everyone and will definitely be back very soon

Had a very nice evening here recently. Food menu was quite extensive - I had Stonebass which I'd never had before on herb flavoured mash (I think) which was quite good (although the ratatouille which was to accompany it was disappointing). The service was professional and friendly. The biggest impression made on me was the decor which was really impressive and fresh, with a fine cosy (generous seating, fairy-lights, cushions, etc) beer garden out the back. Overall, it is a place I would recommend checking it out if you are in this neck of the woods, although it was a bit quiet the night I was there..

Went to McGettigans yesterday evening for an early evening meal. Absolutely fabulous spot. Don't let the neighbourhood of Talbot Street / Amiens Street put you off - once you're in here, it's a different world. Really great venue with a wide range of beers and cocktails, an open kitchen and a fab menu to choose from. 100% beef burger was amazing and the steaks are really good too. As for the HUGE brownie we had for dessert - yum! Will definitely be back for drinks as they have a really good outside terrace under the arches of the railway track. Just across from Connolly Station, this is a great spot in the North Star Hotel - well worth a visit.

Went here for Lunch on Friday and was really impressed by everything. The layout and decor are excellent and the beer garden out the back is really well done. The staff were attentive but not intrusive. The menu covers all options - whether you want a snack, full lunch or a cheese or meat board. Food was served promptly and we all loved our choices. We could see the chefs cooking away in the kitchen which is visible from the restaurant. Great range of beers to choose from. Finally excellent value for money. Try the cookhouse quickly before the secret is out.
