My favorite restaurant in the city. Sushi is delicious and seafood pancake unbelieveable. I love to do Korean barbeque with beef.

Dropped in here on spec on a Friday evening. It looked very promising as there were quite a few Asian customers. We had 2 beers to start which were very well priced for a restaurant. Looking back on the reviews now, we seem to have missed some very interesting options on the menu and we could probably have done with some guidance. We shared a mixed starter of BBQ lamb and beef skewers. The lamb was tasty but the beef was tough and inedible. I had the Duck and Mushroom (€14.90) while my wife had sizzling aubergine with pork (€10.90). She was disappointed that the aubergine was deep fried in light batter which was not clear on the menu but still found them quite appetizing. We had 2 bowls of egg fried rice (€3.90) but one would have been more than sufficient. Our bill came to €44.10 which was reasonable but certainly not a giveaway for what we got. We would go again but would spend more time studying the voluminous menu before placing our order.

I've been wanting to try here for ages because I know it's really popular but I was so disappointed. First off, stale prawn crackers and a flat beer. We ordered sizzling beef in oyster sauce and crispy pork and prawns. I don't know if it's because we're Irish and they had tamed it down, but the food was so bland, really missing some spice! The sauce was also quite heavy, sticky and thick. We did have some pork dumplings to start and they were decent. I guess on a positive note, the portion sizes are seriously generous. We really had a big appetite going in and couldn't nearly finish our food. I would still consider going back to try the hotpot, I hope it's their redeeming dish!

My favorite Chinese place in Dublin, recommended to my by my Chinese friend who considers it really authentic. Great food, friendly staff, almost family-like atmosphere makes it a perfect place for lunch during weekends or late diner. They have a really good and reasonably priced selection of lunch dishes. I particularly recommend shredded pork in Peking sause (only 7 euro at lunch time and portions are huge!), fried green beans with pork and of course all dishes containing kimchi! If you're unsure about what to order, or what the dish actually looks like, don't hesitate to ask the waitress, they're very helpful. If you go with bigger group of friends I recommend going for the BBQ - very socializing and of course, delicious.

Really enjoyed the barbecue set meal. Great fun and the waiting staff were very helpful at getting us started. I recommend getting some vegetable side dishes.

I went here on a Saturday night with 4 friends. 3 of the group opted for the Korean barbecue with beef. Myself and another friend went for the Chef Special Spicy Beef with vegetables, on the recommendation of the waitress. I asked for a medium spiced dish, while my friend went for the spicy version. We all enjoyed our food. I got an enormous portion of beef - I couldn't finish the dish. The food isn't too heavily spiced - I tried my friend's "spicy" version and was able to eat it. I would definitely come back here again to try other stuff on the menu and the staff are very friendly.

Went for hotpot at €45 for 3 people. We got plates of thin slices of lamb, beef, squid, clams, rice noodles, prawns, mushrooms, tofu and lettuce. Service was good and quick. A little pricey but was stuffed afterwards. Only thing that bugged me was that like in most places, the English menu is not exactly the same as the Chinese menu (I am of Irish-Chinese descent) but whatever food was available on both menus, the food on the English menu was more expensive! Still though, recommended.

Totally enjoyed the food! Authentic, tasty, and good value! We had several dishes for four of us: soup, fried pancake, seabass, fired nice, and toufu shrimp, yummy! Recommended restaurant. One thing really skeptical is the location, but turned out nothing to do with the food provided by this restaurant. Will go back for sure.

Hilan is great for a quick bite to eat or for a meal with a big group. I went here for something quick to eat after work with my friends. We hadn't booked a table but that was not a problem. We were told that we could have the table for an hour, which suited us but which might not suit everybody. The food was fine. It's simple food, nothing special. Despite only having the table for an hour we did not feel rushed by the staff.

Found this restaurant after doing some late night Xmas shopping and was pleasantly surprised. We ordered some dumplings to share which were tasty. Hubby ordered the spicy fish korean dish which was cod and was delicious and definitely had a kick. It was served with a very generous portion of rice. I ordered the Spicy Chicken and Potato Korean soup dish but was told by the waitress about 10 mins later that it wasn't available. Ordered the beef and vegetable in spicy sauce from the korean list again and it wasn't spicy, just a little tangy. Restaurant was very busy for a Monday night but not surprising given their reasonable prices. 1 starter, 2 mains for 28...that's recession proof! Would like to go back to sample their BBQ. Not too much in terms of atmosphere, just a television in the background showing a football match, but wouldn't let that put me off going again!
