First things first...I don't think the first five reviews are genuine..They were all put up in the same month, all by first time users, all glowing and all very similarly written. That said....went here tonight and had a nice meal. Tha place could do with a bit of a revamp but food was good-good selection and tasty. Reasonably priced. Would have no problem going back...straight forward and enjoyable.

Mama's is a preferred pitstop, since I frequently travel from Letterkenny to Sligo. It's hearty, homestyle fare is always delicious. They vary the menu for seasonal local produce too to include wonderul fish dishes. I'm a bit of sucker for their burgers though.Very welcoming, non prestigious, it's very consistent and good value. Go visit. As Arnie says you'll be back.

I found the whole visit to be one pleasant supriseafter another. The fish was so fresh and tasty that I wish I lived locally so i could feast on it daily. My partner had the pasta and says that it was among the best she has ever tasted. The rhubarb and strawberry crumble are a must have and we finished with excelent coffee and tea like you make at home.the service was promt and friendly without being fussy. The bill was the final suprise. I didn`t think that you could get such good food so cheaply. Well worth a visit.

I have just come from a 2 and a half hour lunch in Mama's - first visit and I will certainly return! The food was great - good quality and well cooked, while the service was friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and I was delighted to see the kids' drawings decorating one wall - a sure sign that families with kids is welcome! Next time I will bring them.....Today I had mozzarella sticks for starters - a reminder of days in New York - but these tasted great, maybe the cheese was Irish? The chowder was certainly made from fresh fish and the best I have ever had - and I am a good cook! Loads of fish, great flavour, accompanied by home made bread. A real treat....my guest stuck to trad roast beef and vegs and was amazed at the difference in taste from elsewhere! Finished with good coffee and apple tart and waited for what we expected to be a substantial bill....but pleasantly surprised - so left a substantial tip. Will absolutely return....

My friend had been raving about this place for quite a while and once I finally got round to going there for a bite to eat, I soon realised why. What a great find this place is! The service was great - warm, friendly and professional. And the place has such a good atmosphere. I was very impressed with the menu, as they have managed to cater to virtually any taste. And the prices are really reasonable. I've been twice now with friends, and, as far as starters go, the potato and bacon salad and the buffalo wings both really made an impression. Mains wise, the grilled salmon is delicious, and all the steaks are really good cuts and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend it - I'll certainly be back!

Having eaten here many times over the past year and tried nearly everything on the menu, I can say that dining here is always a good experience and it's easily the best value in Donegal Town. The dining room is warm and bright. Try to sit in one of the booths at the window, where you can watch the Donegal Town street life as you enjoy your meal. The owners seem to have put a lot of thought into creating a menu that appeals to nearly everyone. The food is fresh, tasty and very good value. My favourite dish is probably the chowder - full of seafood, very tasty, accompanied by excellent home-made brown bread. Of the main courses, the Irish stew is very good. They also do a delicious grilled chicken fillet in mushroom and bacon sauce. Steaks are always a good experience too! The staff are friendly and efficient - you're always shown to a table in seconds. Service is prompt, even when the restaurant is very busy. Highly recommended.
