Our waitress Katherine was a little gem! She really knew her stuff when it came to the (extensive) drinks list and gave great recommendations for beers and cocktails. I loved the Peachy Blinder. We split the nachos as a starter (Katherine was right, it was plenty big to share). My husband had the steak sandwich, and I had the chicken salad. Because we shared the nachos we had enough room for dessert :) Chocolate Brownie and a little apple pie!

This place is divine! Its absolutely beautiful. We went as a party of 7 and sat outside under a lovely heater! We ordered a light lunch with half the group opting for the nachos & the other half going for either calamari or just chips.... I ordered the calamari & i only noticed after I ordered that wasabi was in the coating, but it obviously just enhanced the dish as I didnt notice it and loved the dish, it came with a lovely salad and 2 large dips of garkic mayo and sweet chili sauce - it was so nice although I was full I could have eaten it again! The Nachos looked lovely and everyone was more than happy with those too. Also the best pint of Guinness in town!

Stunning bar/restaurant and gorgeous food! We went as a fairly large group (7) and sat outside under a heater! We were there for a light lunch and drinks and the food did not disappoint! A few opted for the nachos which looked lovely, I had the calamari, which I only noticed after I ordered that it had wasabi in the coating & I hate wasabi, but it obviously just helped the flavor of the dish as I didn't even notice it! The dish was divine, with garlic and chilli dips.... although it was a big enough dish I could have eaten it again as it was so nice! Also the best pint of Guinness I had in town that weekend!!

Cannot fault the food.. it was excellent, however my husband and I were annoyed by the service. We were there on a bank holiday Monday. We went in to make a reservation at lunch time for 7pm dinner. Told it was not a problem, however at 6.25, I received a call from a member of staff to say that it was quiet in the restaurant and she wanted to give us the option of going somewhere else as we would probably be the only people in the restaurant. We were only a few minutes away so she told us if we could come sooner, it would be better. So we rushed ourselves, got there at 6.30. No gratitude for coming early. Ordered the food and ended up being the last ones in the restaurant. Felt like we could not relax as the staff were cleaning all around us. It was all very rushed! Then after paying, I checked the receipt and saw that we had been charged DOUBLE for our meal so we had to go back in to get a refund! I understand it was a bank holiday and I have no problem with them wanting to close early, but I felt like the situation could have been handled better. Not impressed by the staff. Any other restaurant would probably have offered a free drink or at least been grateful to us for coming a half hour early. I just felt like they wanted us to get out of there. Very bad business!

Fantastic setting. Very good food at a reasonable price. Wine list is somewhat limited. The service was excellent and our Polish waitress was top class

Ate here last Friday evening and have to say it was one of the best meals I have had out in the last while. Very reasonably priced food with excellent staff. Thoroughly enjoyed it and when in the area we will return.

The setting of this restaurant is fantastic, though on this visit our food was a little disappointing. We ate here on a Saturday, because it was a Bank Holiday we were only offered the Sunday Lunch menu. On top of this their pizza menu (which was part of the Sunday Lunch) menu was not available either and as a result our options were pretty limited. We had salads and seafood chowders for starters which were all delicious. For our main courses we were left with very few options and so we order three roast of the day (lamb) and one chicken goujons. The roasts were all a little dry and we felt like we it was cooked quite a few hours beforehand, it was neither tender nor succulent. However, the goujons were nice and tender and were really fresh and tasty. For dessert, we were again limited as they had no ice cream. One of us ordered the chocolate browny which was incredibly hard and heavy, between 4 of us we found it hard to finish. We love good food and are far from fussy, but because we were celebrating a birthday on this day we felt really let down by the choice and quality on the day. We have eaten in the Church quite a few times before this but when we return we will ensure to go when a full dinner menu is being served.

Myself, my husband and my one year old toddler went here for lunch. Our food was excellent, fresh and local and the staff could not have been friendlier. My husband and I both went for fish main courses. You could almost taste the sea, it was so fresh. Our bill came to under €50 .It is always a pleasure to eat in this restaurant when we are down this way. Well done!

We travelled west again as my parents love this restaurant.. we had booked our table in advance upstairs as we love the atmosphere and surrounding stainglass windows. We had soup followed by steak sandwich beautifully cooked served with onions and mushrooms and a peppercorn sauce that was wonderful. N had her usual goat cheese salad as she absoultely loves this. The others had fish of the day served with mouthering fries and salad and R had pasta... which was so big she couldn't finish.. a first for her.. service excellent food excellent no doubt we will be back and would recommend a visit here.

My husband and I visited the church restaurant recently, first of all can I say what a fantastic friendly staff that are employed here. We did'nt have a booking but managed to get in on a very busy night. We had the special 60 euro menu, four courses and a bottle of wine, great value. The food was excellent, everything fresh and beautifuly presented. We would return to Skibbereen again for a visit if only to eat here again.

The Church is a beautiful atmospheric building which has a good breakfast menu and is a great stop off for afternoon tea after shopping in Skibbereen. The staff are always extremely friendly and it's always busy when we stop in.

I have eaten here a number of times and the food is always delicious. First of all, the restaurant is beautiful with stained glass windows and exquisite decor throughout. You are then greeted by friendly servers who take your order from an extensive menu ranging from salads and pizzas to seafood and steak. And that's just to name a few! Two of my favourite items are the chowder and the brown bread that accompanies it. There is always plenty of fish in the chowder and it is delicious. I highly recommend a trip to 'The Church' at any time - you won't be disappointed!

Ate here as part of a group of 10. Food was quite nice. Nothing special if I am honest. Very limited menu especially as I don't eat fish so my only choice then was chicken or sirloin steak. Ate here before and had the early bird which was great value and a much bigger selection too. Beautiful building though and they did a great job of renovating it after the fire. Staff very nice and friendly. Will give it another try as we loved it on our first trip.
