Had a lovely meal here, thai red curry, mmm. Folks had equally delicious meals, tastes of which were half heartedly offered. The view was amazing even though it was dark, pity I couldn't see it in daylight. The restaurant was quite but there was a soft buzz about the place, lovely relaxed atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and helpful too.

Dined in this restaurant as part of a mini-break deal in the Montenotte Hotel. Couldn’t fault any of it – from start to finish it was delicious. There was a nice relaxed atmosphere and a great mix of background music. Restaurant was quite busy yet service was still good, with no delays experienced. Their Limerick Ham and Cheese Rostis for starters are mouth-watering. Mains of chicken was equally delicious and served with plenty of fresh vegetables. There were chips on the menu but it’s lovely to see the humble Irish spud served up fluffy and light. Apple Pie for dessert was far too good to share! Can’t comment on value for money as the meal was included with the hotel deal, but it does appear to be a very popular spot for dinner so that speaks for itself.

If you're lucky enough (as we were) to get a table near the windows in the Merchants Bistro, you will be rewarded with uninterrupted views across Cork City. The Bistro was busy with couples, groups and families. Service was prompt and staff friendly. I had a delicious steak, cooked exactly as requested and served with lovely creamy mashed potato and a selection of five freshly cooked vegetables. Have never come across such a variety of vegetables (per person!) whilst dining out before. Presentation was excellent. A dessert of profiteroles drizzled in warm chocolate sauce, dressed with a fresh strawberry and dusted with icing sugar, looked almost too good to plunge a spoon into, but I managed - eventually! A nice bottle of wine during the meal and two coffees at the end, all added up to a lovely evening. Will definitely dine here again.
