Food good,However , Bar and dining room are adjacent and joined by an open window hatch.Josh Groban cd was playing in bar and Pill Coulter cd playing simultaneously in dining room! !.I did mention to barman who turned one off for about 10 mins, and then turned back on again! !.nI love both these artists, but not simultaneously! !.nAmbience very poor as a result ,and my musical background was playing havoc in my head. nMy poor partner was seated opposite the kitchen serving door ,and it was very cold an drafty. Couldn't wait to get out of the place. Not for the discerning diner ,especially pre Valentines Evening! !.Will not be returning. We live 15 mins from restaurant ,but will not be returning. In need of a major makeover.

Good all round option. Not gourmet, but then it doesn't claim to be. Friendly staff.

The wine , 2014 Fleurie was disappointing. Everything else was very good. Table in the bar was perfect on a quiet night.

THE RISING TIDE Enjoyed a terrific meal at Glounthaune’s Rising Tide Brasserie on Friday night. Quality local produce featured strongly across the menus and must say that their early Bird (2 course for €20.00, 3 for €25.00) is top class and fantastic value). I was on the al a carte and herself, her allowance cut, was on the Early Bird! But it was no punishment – I’ll have to think of something else. Her starter was just fantastic. Two generous rings of Jack McCarthy Wild Boar Black Pudding (€6.95) and served with cider apple & seasonal leaves. A brilliant combination and an absolutely well balanced starter. She followed that with the Rich Seafood Pie (€14.95), with monkfish, smoked haddock, cod & salmon in a leek sauce topped with creamed mashed potato. There was nice thin piped potato crust on the top but over 90 per cent was fish, fish, fantastic fish. She was very happy and so was I. My starter was the House Speciality: Rising Tide Mussels (€8.50). There are three versions and I went for them steamed in a white wine and cream sauce. Mussels were excellent and just as well there was a spoon there for the wickedly tempting sauce. The Chef had a board full of specials up and I picked Jack McCarthy’s Pork Rack (€21.95) with mustard and brandy sauce and sun-dried tomato and potato mash. Two serious chops, done to perfection, challenged me to do my worst and, yes, I wiped the plate clean. Pork Chops might not sound too exciting but put McCarthy and chef Kiely together and you get a top class dish. It is quite a comfortable room, reached through the bar where they also serve food. Service is efficient and informative and very friendly and has been for a long time. Excellent eating here and that Early Bird allows you an inexpensive introduction if you haven’t been. Try it.

Called in for late lunch with lil sis, didn't want to spoil dinner so just the toasted sandwiches. The toast was very dry and the cheese not melted fully but great big hunks of ham. They were served with fried spuds, and the overdressed salad, we decided to share a desert, a nd i ordered a tea with the lemon meringue. The tart looked fab, the meringue tasted fine, but the lemon and the pastry was disgusting, there was a lovely vanilla ice cream but a raspberry coulis that wass seriously fermented. the tea was late arriving but the service was good and they did not charge for the desert, the price of the sandwiches was good, and the service from the staff was great.

Ate here with a big group. The service was good, and they dealt well with the amount of kids (who were running around, screaming and eating etc.) I had the soup which was nice, and they gave quite a big bowl of it. I then had the lasagne which was nicer than other lasagnes i have had in restaurants. To finish off, i had the sticky toffee pudding, which was nice, but nothing to rave about.

What a fantastic restaurant. I have eaten here a few times and each visit has been excellent. There is always a warm greeting from staff who are friendly and professional. The food has always been very good with a wide choice on the menu. It is set on a beautiful waterside location and they also have an outdoor seating area during the summer. I will definately be going back.

I have eaten in this place once before and when I heard that they won an award for best bar food It reminded me how lovely my first experience was and how I never once taught about writing a review which I must say was wrong of me. Having worked in the industry for years I love to see feed back from clients as it’s a great way to truly understand a product first hand. My experience of the Rising tide has always been excellent, Like any good restaurant the foundations to making it perfect is not just a talented chef and good management team it is right down to the person who washes the pots and pans and this restaurant seems to under stand this principle. Well enough about foundations and principles I Should tell you about the food which I experienced while dining at this restaurant For Starters we had Chowder and Prawns in a tempura Batter, I was a bit apprehensive about the Chowder as in many place they seem to think Chowder is made from Cream and this is the only taste you get when eating it. But not here it was perfect in every way not too filling and just enough, as for the prawns they were cooked to perfection I like prawns cook where there not total white all the way through as this means that they are over cooked. Not many chef seem to know this and was the first thing that I checked when I received them as these were cook perfect. For Main Course we both had fillet Steaks and again cooked to perfection. It was served with a selection of Market Vegetables and garlic butter, The only complaint I would have was that I was too full to have dessert, But if this is a complaint I would take it as a compliment. I wish you and your team the very best of Luck in the Future and I’m looking forward to my next visit. But this time I think I will have Main course and Dessert

Went to the Rising Tide today with my family. And all I can say is WOW. Had loads to choose from a great menu but decided on the fish cakes for starters which were divine. And then had the oven baked salmon, from start to finish it was a great experience. The staff were excellent, the food was gorgeous and there was a lovely atmosphere. All for a very good price. Will definitely be back.

Visited here for evening meal on the way home from Christmas shopping, great location - stunning wateside views, the atmosphere along with the Christmas decorations was great. The food was delicious and the portions were very generous. All members of staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Very good value for money especially their Early Bird menu.

Amazing Atmosphere with magnificent food, definately reccomend this place. I had the Chicken liver pate for starter, the catch of the day for main and the melt in your mouth profiteroles. If its a place you want to dine in with and have friendly service at your fingertips this is surely the place to go.
