Although the lunch was delicious, (we had roast beef with potatoes and vegetables), I was a bit puzzled. The stuff was very friendly, but the service is comparable to an exclusive canteen rather than to a restaurant. You have to collect your food at the counter and pay immediately. If you want to have something different to drink, you have to order and pay it separately. Nobody had taken care, if I probably like to drink something different rather than the offered tap wafter. Maybe I expected to much, but not only the proper dressed staff and the comfortable seating area makes a good restaurant/inn, but also the service as such. Sorry, but that made me a bit disappointed.

A very pleasant evening had by all..Atmosphere excellent service very good Food was great however nwe felt starters were very expensive especially the tempura vegetables. ...Steaks were super but pepper sauce needs work. .very bland. Also the kids menu needs a fish option.Great night though...will be back...

My husband & I dine every week in the Brook Inn and some family meet on some Sundays for the breakfast / brunch. Bernie and her team are amazing and we are always made to feel very welcome and we have good banter. The food is really beautiful. Congratulations on the 1st anniversary of the fab transformation, the place is pretty unique. To all of you well done and keep up the good work. R & T.

Service is excellent, very homely! Roast beef sandwich really rare and delicious. The surroundings are a little dark and it makes for difficult eating. The desert menu is fairly sparse not in content , plenty to choose from but nothing you'd want and very overpriced for what they are! Nice spot and will have repeat business but want a bit more!!!

Called in with small man and dad, no problems with this place just a little dark in places. The service is fine but not overly friendly! Dad had a chicken cordon blue, very tasty and came with delicious side of fresh veg, good value too. I had a Mexican wrap, there was nothing spectacular in this, the mango salsa was minimal, the most filling thing was the chunky chips that it came with. Baby bowls are free to under 2, we ordered spaghetti for small man but he wasn't gone on the sauce! The wrap was overpriced but again little wrong with the place just not overly friendly

Called in for lunch . Sis had chicken/spinach quiche. Very nice too. I had a simple toastie. Lovely bread and fine thick slices of real ham. The service was a little slow, but maybe the spread out nature of the bar is more the reasoning for this. The deserts were not hectic, overly sweet. I had brownie and it was stodgy, when ice cream cuts though a desert it is too much!! The malteaser cheesecake was bland with thick butterscotch dripping over, not for me! Over all it was nice, but ordinary. It's a busy spot and caters well for everyone.

Went here for Sunday lunch with my family. They have a cavery with 6-7 choices (Beef, Turkey, Roast Chicken ....). It was very good for a cavery. We try desert after and were very pleased with that also. Sunday lunch seem to be very popular here. It is a pub so that might be a put off for some people.

I have gone here a couple of times for lunch with work and I can see its appeal however it is not for me. I don't like carvery. I found the menu good however service was quite poor as they were so busy. I think it would suit some and not others!

Havnt tried the a la carte menu here but have been here a number of times for the carvary. portions are quite big and food quality is good. there is also a veggie option which may be ordered at the carvary. staff here are lovely. there tends to be a good atmosphere and the decor is quite nice. a popular choice for families to lunch.
