Very popular place in Douglas, especially at the weekends when many people go for Sunday lunch.Great place to meet friends for dinner and drinks also.It always has a great buzzing atmosphere, especially at night. They have something to suit everyone. They do a great selection of burgers and steaks if you like your meat.I,personally, really like their fajitas. You get a lot of sides with these including cheese, guacamole and plenty of vegetables. This is a very popular dish here.Overall,I would recommend this venue based on the location, atmosphere and food.

I went here with a few of my friends for lunch a few weeks ago. I found the staff to be very rude, service was very slow and the food was average. Paying nearly 20 euro for chicken fajitas was ridiculous. My friend asked for a skinny cappuccino and they only had full fat milk! The waitress was also very reluctant for us to split the bill and pay individually even though it was very quiet Would not recommend going there!

I get craving for thier spicy buffalo wings every couple of weeks. You can get it in four types of hotness of the sauce, it goes nicely down with a cold pint of iced cool beer. its the best in Ireland! No doubt. A little on the pricey side to me but it depends on what you order, also they do the best steaks! Its my treat when I have some extra cash. I perfer sit in the bar than the restaurant. Same menu, the restaurant is very loud for some reason. I enjoy the atmosphere in the bar mroe.

Poorest eating experience I have had in a long long time.I recently celebrated my two-year anniversary a happy time for most. However, after attending the East Village Bar and Restaurant I was left with a bitter taste in my mouth. This is the first time I have ever written a review for anything, so you can see how strongly I feel. We arrived at 20.10 and we seated straight away. Ordered drinks, perfect. Everything went fine until we had to order the food.We gave our order at 20.25. We just ordered a main meal as we were heading straight out afterwards, as it was the first time out together, both having a drink, in over year, as my wife had been pregnant. Another couple was seated next to us. Their starter came and went. Their main meal came and went. No sign of ours! We were asked did we want more drinks once during this time, no apology! 21.10 our meal arrived. No apology, nothing. My wife asked me to leave it alone, which I did. If not for our anniversary, we would have left after 20 minutes and paid for our drinks. Shocking, shocking, shocking…….. To be fair my wife’s meal was very tasty. Mine on the other hand was not. Fast food restaurant at best, very, very poor. Better restaurants in the locality.

We ate here on two occasions in June and on each occasion found the service and food to be excellent. We were in a bit of a rush on the second occasion as we were going to the Marquee and when we mentioned this to our waitress and she brought our food out very quickly but the quality of the food was not in anyway lessened by the rush. I would prefer to eat upstaris. The atmosphere in East village Bar is excellent.

This restaurant is very nice, the tables are not too close and the staff are nice and friendly. The food is lovely and we enjoy going here. The bar downstairs is good for matches and the staff are usually themed for halloween, valentines etc, a nice touch

I only go here when a match is on - no atmosphere otherwise. It's usually good for basic barfood and the service is always good. The last time I was there I ordered their chicken curry. Got a white bowl with a heap of rice, an uncut chicken fillet with the curry sauce poured over it. It looked horrendous and tasted it too. Their burgers which used to be good have gone downhill, and we all left there very disappointed. Never eating here again.

Great place for a quick bite to eat after work or lunch or at the weekend or a bite to eat with a few friends. Staff very friendly and food very good. Buffalo wings, nachos and burgers are best on the menu. Casual dining and fast service with good value for money. Will definately go there again.

Met up with a group of friends in the East Village on a Monday evening. We opted to dine upstairs in the restaurant as it seemed quieter than the pub. We each ate from the early bird menu which was 3 courses for 20euro. There was a good selection to choose from on the early bird menu. The wings were by far the best I have found in cork and come with sauce from mild to insane. As a main I had a Philly Cheese Steak which was huge and came with a side of chips, but the sandwich itself was nothing to rave about. The only offer for dessert was a selection of ice cream with the early bird menu which was a bit of a dissapointment. I would definetly go back for the wings but will order another main dish next time.

Spanish fries are a must.. The chicken wings are unreal, nicest I'v ever tasted...The only thing that lets the place down is the toilets in the bar, they are really disgusting, for such a trendy pub, they really need to do something with them.

3 of us visited the restaurant, it was quiet on our arrival and we got a lovely booth. The starters of chicken wings were very tasty and the portion size were sufficient to share. 2 of the 3 got the fish & Chips option and to be honest it was not great value for money the chips were frozen and the portion was not very big, overall the presentation of the dish was not great, home cut chips would make this dish a lot nicer. Overall the experience was good and would certainly return again

My wife and I would go to The East Village on a regular basis and overall we would be very pleased with it. I would find the atmosphere in both the restaurant and bar quite good. I have never had any complaints with the food and find the €20 special during the week to be good value. My only concerns and criticisms would be that sometimes the music in the restaurant can be a bit loud and perhaps a bit to fast where a more soothing music would be more appropriate, but maybe that's just me getting old(er). We have had to ask the staff could they lower the music on a few visits. My only other crib would be that the menu is quite stagnant and it could do with some changes from time to time, especially the addition of some more fish dishes. I hope the management read menupages and consider these comments because with these little things rectified I feel the East village could be just perfect.
