Stopped in for meal on passing... first thing to note was broken/ loose stone step coming up from parking area.. my brother had visited a few months earlier and this was broken then also.. The bar/ restaurant itself is decorated very darkly.. Staff were very friendly and helpful.. Food itself was just average.. Portions were of a good size.. and while nothing itself wrong with the food it just seemed to lack something..

I'm a fan of the Viaduct, both for carvery lunch and evening meals.I ordered the steak bagette last night, perhaps I didn't read the menu carefully enough and was surprised when I wasn't asked how I would like my steak cooked. My plate arrived with nice thick chips, a varied salad and an empty bagette, cut and buttered! My sizzling platter (as described on the menu to be fair) then arrived with my strips of beef, mushrooms & onions combined in a pepper sauce. Obviously a DIY steak bagette! Not sure how I felt about this, if a bowl of rice had come out with it, I would have been fooled into thinking I'd ordered some variation of a beef stroganoff! It was tasty but too much like hard work for a simple steak bagette I felt. Once again the Viaduct was very busy, I always find this place very packed and hot for some reason. We were serve by a lovely girl.My friend just had soup and a toasted sandwich, unfortunately they didn't come together as ordered so he had the soup finished before the toastie arrived and to be honest, it was pretty basic. Two slices of slice pan, toasted with ham, tomato, cheese & onion cut in half and sin é! No garnish or nothing on the plate, let it down a little.

Haven't been to the Viaduct for a long long time, at least 5 years! Decided to come here with my father for Sunday lunch, as the carvery here was always great! Car park was fairly busy, as was the restaurant and the queue for the carvery was very long too, this being said it moved very quickly and we weren't waiting long. Decor of the restaurant hasn't changed much over the years, still like a traditional public house. Food is absolutely gorgeous in here, nothing to complain about. Great selection of desserts on offer too, along with soup as a starter if you wish. I just had my main meal, carvery... Turkey and Ham and it was gorgeous, and the veg was cooked to perfection too. My father had the banoffe pie as a dessert, to which I had a small taste, as I am trying to avoid sweets, after overindulging throughout the week and I have to say it was quite nice too! Always pretty cheap here too if your on a budget, so all in all highly recommended. Thanks, - Patrick

First impressions were the car park was jammed, thought we would be ages waiting but had a table and lunch on it within 15 minutes. great selection of carvery, they also do 1/2 portions which is more than enough and this was €8.50. Fast turnover , we reckoned there was at least 100 people eating and as each person left there was more coming in. well reccommended.

It's usually a Sunday when I visit the Viaduct. They are well-known for their good carvery but I'm not a fan of carvery so I can't comment on that! I always go for the bar menu which has plenty for me to choose from. More often that not I order the duck and it is always spot on! The staff are very friendly and there is always a good atmosphere. It's also very handy to visit as there is plenty of parking available.

Excellent pub for a casual lunch. Close to city centre, but also a good place to stop if passing on the way to west Cork. There is both a carvery and menu with sandwiches, toasted sandwiches, baguettes, enchiladas, wraps and more. Both are superb value with good food. Staff are friendly and attentive. A most enjoyable experience at a wonderful price.

The Viaduct's food is good, and the service is good aswell. Usually a nice quiet bar/restaurant to go to, but every Sunday, the place is jointed and loads of screaming kids for the carvery menu! It is nice though, and I do like eating there.
