Apparently you have to be over 18 to eat here?? I'm 17 and a group of 5 of my friends went to go for a meal here for my friends birthday and they turned us away at the door because we were under 18? We weren't planning on drinking just going for food but wasn't let in? Can't see why!

Had eaten in the Tung Sing before and remembered the food was lovely. Not so last night unfortunately. First thing was that was off-putting when we were seated was the discovery that they were using paper table cloths. That’s just not on – it felt like we were at a children’s tea party. My dining companion remarked that there was a linen table cloth underneath the paper ones, but that it was dirty on his side. That’s not acceptable either. Service was prompt and staff were pleasant, but the Manager saw fit to sit in the corner with his nose stuck in a newspaper for the evening, which didn’t look very professional on his part. I felt that the place had gone completely downhill. Tung Sing Chow Mein was my choice of meal, and a jug of gravy was brought to the table to go with it – very peculiar. Needless to say the gravy wasn’t used. The Chow Mein didn’t have the ‘wow’ factor that so often accompanies Chinese food. Was totally underwhelmed with the whole experience.

Tung Sing could do with a serious paint job to freshen it up and take the dowdy appearance from it. Looks as if the ceiling hasn’t been given a lick of paint since the place opened. We went for the 4-7p.m. early bird which consisted of two courses and a glass of wine for €19.50 per person. Service was good but the meal wasn’t terribly exciting – just average. Picked up the Soy Sauce to use it and noticed the best before date on the bottle was 04/03/2010. Perhaps management would look into this. 15 month old Soy Sauce should not be in use. Restaurant was empty apart from our table and one other that was occupied. Cannot judge the atmosphere as a result. Floor in the gents was wet – that’s a complete ‘no-no’ in my book. Won’t be in a hurry back, there are plenty of other Chinese restaurants in Cork that are worth a visit first.

I have been here dozens of times for the daily lunch time special. Its great, fast, service with value for money food. They added on 2 euro if you want chicen wings as a starter but its worth it. They are well tasty as is everything on the menu, i have never had a la carte but i can only imagine it to be of better quality. I'd highly recomend a trip there., and in my opinion patrick st. is nicer then blarney.

I go to this restaurant quite a bit as I just think it is absolutely brillient value for money! The portions are very big and the food is served very fast!- It isn't the best if you're looking for somewhere quite posh/classy but the food is gorgeous and the price is very very reasonable! Also, the seating in their is nice as it is not too cramped. I'm a huge fan of the curry, as are most of my friends! Gorgeous!

Two of us went to the Tung Sing on this friday night. It was quite busy as people were coming in after doing some christmas shopping, but we were only waiting 5 minutes for a table. We shared prawn crackers and spare ribs to start. Both were lovely. The ribs had a lovely sauce on them and the meat on them was lovely. We both had curry for main course. One chicken, one beef. I thought the curry was a bit spicey. I dont mind spicey, but the person with me isnt the best with them. It wasnt too bad at all, but just incase anyone cant handle any spice, then they should know it is a little spicey, which was something new for the curry in Tung Sing. We both had rice with our mains and shared chips. The chips are nice and the rice is gorgeous and fluffy. The only thing i could say bad about the food was that the curry was a little tomato-ey.. it wasnt bad, but there was a little taste of it which is something i personally dont like, but other than that everything was great. Price is fine aswell.
