A group of us stumbled upon The Pav while looking for somewhere to eat in the Patrick Street area. We found a lovely table by the open window through which the sun shone. The menu was very comprehensive, with something to suit everyone, and was very good value for what we got - unfussy but substantial home-style cooking. Shepherds' Pie and Irish stew were authentic. Service was a bit haphazard initially, but very efficient thereafter. The order at the bar concept may be a bit JD Wetherspoon for some, but it worked perfectly well, and all the staff we encountered were very friendly. The bar also had a decent selection of draught beer. I would certainly return when next in Cork City.
