I regret very much to say I had a very negative experience of El Vino. It was my first time ordering food at El Vino which I decided to get as a take away, I am always excited to find a good new place to get food to take out (looking for healthy options to bring home). The menu caught my eye and I decided immediately I just had to try it. Myself and my boyfriend were living about a 20 minute drive away but we decided it would be worth the drive. We ordered the oriental stir fry and the "Cajun" quesadilla. The girls who served me were extremely friendly and helpful, I felt very satisfied with their service. However, when we got home and opened the boxes of food. We were immediately very disappointed. The quesadilla was very average.. And it really had no "Cajun" spices at all, I could have cooked a better one myself easily. The stir fry was what really disappointed me though, I can usually eat anything as I'm not a fussy eater, but I honestly couldn't eat it. It was absolutely saturated in an extremely salty soya sauce, it was genuinely in edible. A big dissapointment for us in general. I would not recommend this restaraunt if you are looking for good quality food.

Had a very nice night Excellent value for what we paid with the voucher We had four tapas as part of our deal and chose the bread board as one Two of the other tapas included bread as well which we would have liked to be told when ordering We had the Prawns the Crab Claws and the Aubergine which were good but the bread board was a bit uninviting Staff were lovely The restaurant had quite a buzz when we arrived but it died down with people attending a local event We will return as we enjoyed it overall

The staff at El Vino have to be the friendliest, warmest and most efficient staff in cork. They couldn't do enough to make sure we had a lovely time. They were absolutely fantastic. We went there on a deal and thought maybe the portion sizes would be very small to allow for the discount but this was not the case. The food was lovely and very generous portions were given. It was excellent value.

Went here with my family (4 people). 2 staff on floor. Was received very warmly. Was obvious throughout that our waiter, an American woman, was experienced. Xmas menu but while that usually makes my spirits plummet when I see it, this was not a Turkey and Ham effort. No Xmas pudding to be seen thankfully. had prawns pil pil, hake for main and choc tart. Other family members has fried Brie, soup and fish cakes for starter. Everyone was raving about the starters. For mains, I The others had the chicken salad, and monkfish (x2). We were all really really impressed. Good value too considering we had beer, prosecco and wine. The two staff, the American woman and the young man, were brilliant, as obviously were whoever drafted the menu, sourced the ingredients and the chefs! thanks guys. Hope the owner/manager sees this review.

Nice place. My local restaurant. Order was wrong initially and we weren't advised that something which we had ordered was not available, until after we asked about it. We were then promised complimentary cheese and crackers as a result. However, these were not forth coming and were not mentioned again. Overall, staff were very nice but the service was not something we expect for the price tag attached to eating there.

I am surprised by the comments made about El Vino at the Elysian, I am a regular visitor to this restaurant and find it to be absolutely first rate! The restaurant is set out beautifully and the ambience is one of laid back chic! On our last visit (my wife and I) I started with the mussels (absolutely perfect..), the fillet steak rivalled the best I tasted in Argentina, and I finished with the sticky toffee pudding - all delicious! The staff are attentive without being intrusive, nothing is too much trouble. My only regret is that more people don't know about this local gem!

I'm sick of giving this place my custom now. It is patently obvious that the owners of El Vino at the Elysian are focussed on making lots of money rather than on a passion in food. Food is secondary in this stylish restaurant. Today I had a salad that was filled with walnuts (which I adore) that were not fresh. They had that awful 'gone off' flavour. Pork belly was tough and while it was fairly flavoursome it was nothing to write home about and I have had much nicer previously in other restaurants. The 'crumble' dessert was an ignorant vat of 'something' with crumble on top. Coffee was horrible. Service on the other hand was acceptable. (Twice, the waitresses neglected our drinks orders). It was only half full. I'd hate to see it, were it full. This place is not long for the world. I give it 6 months.
