American style hamburger sent back as it was raw in the center. Presumably after starting life as a frozen burger? New meal served but the burger tasted of cheap cow meat (Microwave?) and the chips had been done i oil not hot enough. Meal left uneaten and nobody asked why,

We visited Kelly's of Kilrush on two previous occasions, last being in July 2012. We were always very pleased with both the food and service here in the past, but this time, it was very disappointing. We ordered Seafood Chowder, Soup, Tea, bread and butter. Waitress brought us a very small pot of tea with a single teabag in it. She also asked if we wanted the brown bread ahead of the soup, so we were happy to go with that. Within less than a minute, she arrived with the soup, which had more brown bread on the side and a white bread roll. She hadn't informed us initially that it came with brown bread, so we were now left with a mound of bread. Chowder was extremely disappointing as it was so thick, it was gloopy. My partners soup was equally thick and could hardly be moved about in the bowl. Potatoes in the chowder were hard. The waitress took away the teapot for a top up when she noticed that we had used up what was in it, but the top up was just that...more water in on top of the single tea bag. I couldn't help but notice that the regular clients who had reserved tables got large teapots per couple. Also very noticeable was the waiting while the waiting staff chatted with the regulars. When we finished and went to pay the bill, we were charged €3.10 for two teas. Great mark up when you consider that the lady used a single tea bag. She also charged us for the bread which she brought out ahead of the soup, even though she could have informed us that it came as part and parcel of the starter course. I know its only a small thing, but it is the little things that make for good customer service, and its a disappointment when you expect good service and have recommended the place to all and sundry in the past. Won't be rushing back any time soon.

A wonderful snug restaurant/bar where the service is excellent and the food is delicious, with so much to choose from! Worth a visit!
