Myself and my partner really enjoyed our experience at the Town hall on Wednesday. What stood out most for both of us was the excellent service. The waitresses were friendly and our food was delivered very efficiently. They even sang Happy Birthday to my partner which was a lovely touch. The food was very tasty I loved my crab starter and my partner was very happy with his steak. An excellent experience all round!

On a visit to Ennis we booked a table for four at restaurant as we had eaten there many years before and had enjoyed our meal then. Our return visit did not disappoint us. The food and service were of the same high standard we had experienced previously. All staff were very helpful and friendly. A great service was the norm. We had four starters, four mains, two desserts, coffees and a bottle of wine. The bill came to E148 approx. There was a wide choice on the menu. We had St Tola goats cheese, crab selection for starters. All were fab. For main courses we had lamb shank - meat fell off bone, sea bass and hake with portabello mushroom. Again all fab. Desserts too were great. This was excellent value for the quality and presentation of food that we had received. On the night Mary (cant remember surname) appeared to be the person in charge. She was most efficient and friendly and gave a customer service experience of the highest order. We would recommend this restaurant to everybody and we will certainly be returning there for a meal again.

Second time to eat here. The service was let down by our waitress who never smiled once. I must add at this point the remainder of the servers were very pleasant and smiling. I had a soup for starters while my companion had a black pudding starter. For mains I chose a fillet steak my companion opting for a pork dish. I finished with a mousse. We both enjoyed our food. Portion size was very good indeed as was value for money. I would return again and hopefully next time I will be met with a smile.

A large group of us dined here recently and it was second to none! Food, service and attention was outstanding. Had the brie to start which was coated in an almond breadcrumb. Delicious and very generous portion. Equally as generous was the main course - multiple fillets of seabass with sweet mango. Beautiful. House red was good quality and great valus for money. There were 28 of us and there was only praise from us all. The decor and setting was so plesant and all staff were friendly and accomodation. Cannot rate highly enough, very impressed!

This upmarket restaurant is part of the Old Ground Hotel in the centre of Ennis town. It can be accessed from the hotel and the public street. It has well spaced tables, affording privacy and is of a very relaxed atmosphere. A very large window gives you an eyes view of the main shopping street outside but the ambience inside tells you are in for good dining evening. But unfortunately, we have a little tale to tell. We relaxed by indulging in the selection of breads offered while reviewing the menus. We were having mains only, as we'd a long drive back to our accommodation afterwards. My wife chose the Sea-bass which was cooked in a foil bag, which was promptly unwrapped at the table on being served, and out slipped a very hot fish resplendent in its bluish and silver scales skin. I opted for the Brill on a bed of crab-meat and risotto, the fish firm in its texture. With fresh vegetables, both dishes were excellent until my wife encountered a very long hair within the Sea-bass. Sincere apologies were made by the server, the dish removed, but we did not opt to take an offered alternative dish. As I had finished, I drank a coffee while we awaited a manager to attend to our little incident, but as none arrived, we decided to leave. Standing at the checkout area, a manager was requested who eventually accepted our argument that our evening had been spoilt and to ensure ongoing custom, he accepted payment for our drinks only. Otherwise, the service and food quality is of an excellent standard here, so I would have expected immediate attention to the incident by a manager's visit to the table.

The food here is always exceptional, Fillet of Steak superb (and my wife tells me I'm very fussy!) Whenever we have visitors we always try the Town Hall first

The Town Hall never fails to impress, I have eaten here a few times over the past year and it really is top notch quality food. If I am bring out anyone in Ennis I can be sure that this restaurant will deliver and never seems to have an 'off night'. The king prawns in beer batter for starter are gorgeous, the wine list is ace and the steaks are always perfect. It is not cheap but worth every cent in my book. Can't wait to go back!
