The food is absolutely amazing. The pulled pork is by far the best closely followed by the sweet potato. I've never been disappointed by any dish so far. The staff are so friendly and great fun. They do end to get flustered when it's very busy, we had some issues receiving the correct bottle of wine, but apart from that there are no faults. The restaurant itself is stunning, and so romantic. I could stay there all night with wine in hand. By far the nicest restaurant I've eaten in.

Popped in on a Sunday evening ...as we hadnt eaten in a tapas restraunt before the waitress recommended we order 4 portions (i.e. 2 each). Unfor due to it being a Sunday the most popular items were not available. However, pudding and cheese were very good. Service very good and friendly. Will visit again.

Was on a trip to Carlow for the day, and decided to try this place based on the reviews here. The restaurant itself has a nice european bistro feel to it and a lovely outside area for when the weather gets warmer... Interesting selection of tapas on the menu, not really spanish though, there seemed to be a mixture of spanish, irish, morroccan, american etc.. Based on the waitress's advice that the portions were big, we only ordered two tapas between the two of us, but we could have done with three or four. The black pudding was beautiful, but the falafels seemed to have been baked rather than fried, so they were a little lacking in flavour. However the cheesecakes for desert were lovely. The only other negative, was there were no white spanish wines on the menu, but the french wine we had was very good for the price. Overall an enjoyable meal.

Myself and the better half were staying in the Killerig Hotel last Thursday and popped into Carlow for a bite to eat, to be honest we didn't know where to go and got a bit of a steer from the taxi man who told us about Mimosa. We arrived and got a table immediately although the waiter did tell us that if they got busy as we were at a table for 4 we might have to move...eh I think not...only reason why I'm marking down the service 1 point!! That said the service and food were great and there is a lovely atmosphere in the restaurant. I was intrigued by the chilli chocolate beef and ordered it although I must say when it came I had to get rid of the chocolate, my tastebuds obviously aren't sofisticated enough to appreciated the balance, apart from that it must be one of the best tapas restaurants I've been too...thanks for a great night guys!!

Dined in Mimosa last Sunday, party of four, we just decided last minute to visit having been recommended by our guests who had dined here previous week, we were not disappointed. It is a quaint little dining are we were seated in out back, it was a lovely evening unfortunately there was no music on at the time however there was still a buzz about the place and it was quite busy, we were seated immediately by pleasant waiting staff. To the most improtant thing Food, firstly we chose our wines but unfortunately I forgot to get the name of what we had chose both red and white, suffice to say these were excellent so we decided not to change wines for the remainder of the evening, the tapas arrived quickly patats bravas were good and spicy, calamari and meatballs were superb also, these were followed by two dishes of very tasty prawns and chorizo in red wine sauce, my wife was not overly gone on the goats cheese with orange but felt is was unusual enough to try but personally speaking she felt it did not work and although not particurlarly tapas I couldnt resist the nachos, an excellent night had by all with some great food and wine in a lovely atmosphere, I will definitely be back to Mimosa
