I am just home from Carlow after celebrating my sister's hen weekend there. When planning the weekend, a friend from Carlow recommended that we book Brasserie 15 for dinner....and I am so glad we did! From the beginning, the staff and management were so friendly and helpful, doing everything they could to meet OUR needs before we even got there! A few hours prior to the meal, I received a phonecall from a staff member to confirm my booking and asking me where we would like to sit. I told him that I'd leave it up to him to choose the table/area of the restaurant that he thought best. I assured him that we wouldn't be "your typical noisy hen" and he simply replied "don't worry madam, the more noise the better!" When we arrived at the restaurant later that evening we were brought upstairs to a lovely table decorated with pink ballons for the hen. We ordered from the 2-course set menu for a very reasonable €25.95. Altho I'm a real foodie and love eating out, I chose Brasserie 15 mainly for its affordability and just hoped that the food would be edible!! Luckily for us, it was far more than edible with such a variety of choices, each one as delicious as the next. The hen was also treated to a complimentary 'good luck' dessert and cocktail. Our waiter, deserves a special mention. He was an absolute gent and couldn't have been more friendly, helpful and accomodating for the duration of our meal. Several times, he checked to see that both my sister (the hen) and myself were happy and if there was anything he could do. It's no exaggeration to say that EVERY single one of the girls spoke about how amazing he was and how he deserved an extra big tip. We had booked a table in the adjoining 'Med Bar' for drinks at 9:30pm but it was only when he approached me at 10:30 that I realised the time. He simply said "Madam, please feel more than welcome to stay here but just to let you know that we have a table ready for you in the Med Bar next door whenever you are ready to go. When we eventually asked for the bill, Bart explained every charge on the bill so that we could clearly see what we were being billed for. He also told us that we could leave our coats in the restaurant and collect them when leaving the late bar next door. And just when we thought it couldn't get any better, he offered out his hand to help us as we were coming down the stairs in our heels. On leaving, the manager also checked to see that we enjoyed our meal and I made sure to tell him that we most certainly did! When booking the restaurant and the late bar, I didn't realise that they were next to each other and, I'm assuming, joint-owned. Again the bar was perfect for us....we got a nice big table, again decorated with balloons, and there was regular table service for those of us who didn't feel like going to the bar. The D.J. even gave a special mention to the hen and invited her up to the bar to make a cocktail of her choice. The barman/mixologist helping her was another lovely guy, who's name I can't remember! I know this must sound like an advertisement for both businesses but that is exactly why I am writing this...because we were completely blown away by the customer service at both. From the beginning, it was 'customer first' and doing everything possible to make our experience the best possible one. So all in all Brasserie 15 comes highly recommended by me - both for hen weekends and also for smaller groups and couples...I know I dread it when I go our for a meal and see a big hen party in the same venue so I liked the way we were seated in a different, yet still very atmospheric area, to the smaller groups and couples.

My friend and I went here last Saturday and were left disappointed with the messy service and generally over cooked food. The main course was inedible and was sent back. My impression was that food was over cooked, the plates too hot and then left sitting under lamps for too long! The cocktails were served in warm glasses and were badly made, bread and water arrived after the side plates had been removed, three staff kept coming to the table to ask the same questions. Its a nice place, clean toilets, friendly staff but they need to get the basics right and sharpen up on the quality of service and food.

First visit to Brasserie was for Sunday Lunch. Warm welcome by waitress whose attention to detail throughout the meal was excellent. Water jugs, fresh bread brought to the table regularly. Starters were varied and delicious with each of 3 of us choosing a different one, we cleared the plates. Main courses appeared small in portion but by the time we had cleared our plates we were so full we couldn't fit in dessert. As a vegetarian I was delighted with the choice available. Overall it was a really enjoyable lunch and at €16.95 for two courses with excellent service and delicious food this certainly won't be my first and last visit, I look forward to visiting Brasserie 15 for an evening meal.

Had to wait almost an hour for a table which was disappointing, considering we had actually booked. I had the monk-fish (ordered the venison but was taken off the menu). Portion size was very small and slightly over cooked. My husband had the steak, which he ordered medium, but got it well done - this was on our last visit. we have been there 3 times since it opened late last year, but we don't plan on returning any time soon.
