we came in here for lunch yesterday after a walk in wicklow. Lovely place, warm and inviting. We had 2 sandwiches (with side salad), a cappucino and an americano. They were fine, not amazing, but totally acceptable. The big shocker came when we got the bill.... 24 euro !!!! Nice cafe, but prices are too high for what you get.

Poppies is a lovely, not to be missed restaurant in Enniskerry. A treat after a days walking in the nearby hills. We had Poppies Chicken special which was delicious with a selection of healthy side salads. This a fabulous chicken recipe. The summer fruit crumble was really great, filled with summer berries and a delicious topping.

Popped in for a bite after a hike up around Crone woods. The place was packed which is always a good sign!...staff were very helpful despite the mayhem. It's all fresh healthy food...pretty much!...even the desserts kind of look healthy! I had the homity pie...VERY good. There really should be a lot more places like this offering good value healthy food.

Living close to Enniskerry I have visited Poppies and few times and have been dissapointed on each occasion. Whilst there is a wide range of hot food available, it is heated in the microwave which is not what you expect for the prices charged! As a stop off for coffee and a cake then it is better, but still expensive. It is a very busy place but usually due to the tourists visiting Enniskerry, so maybe that is why the prices are high for the quality.

Too expensive for the overall quality. It's a cafe with restaurant prices. Good cakes though. Terrible coffee. If you're in Enniskerry on a wet summers afternoon or sunny afternoon it's still an ideal setting. I live fairly close to Enniskerry and would like to be able to rate this place higher but I can't based on my previous experiences here. Seems like it's for tourists who will never bother returning so it doesn't matter how expensive or bad the coffee is.

Had lunch with a friend - beautiful place with friendly staff. It was quite poky where we were sitting but seemed to open out towards the back! overall no complaints!

Out doing the touristy bit in the Enniskerry area and it started to rain so we decided to have a coffee stop. Unfortunately everyone else had the same idea so we could not get a seat in Poppies. Eventually went back when things had quitened down a little later and enjoyed the delicious crumble and coffee it was very nice. Will visit again in the future and have something a bit more substancial.

Poppies is everything I look for in a cafe. The atmosphere is very country kitchen the coffee is good and the cakes are always too tempting to pass up,particularly the crumble. All food is homemade. I recommend the lasagne and the baked potatoes. Perfect in its location, cosy and slightly rural...the best cafe for miles around.

Nice place for lunch or a coffee. I've found the food varies a bit. Lasagne has been nice at times and over-seasoned with pepper at other times. Nice selection of home-made cakes - lemon muffin is yum. Can be busy though at lunch time but have always got a seat.

Visited poppies on Sat for lunch, the cafe is old world, which I assume is the look that they are going for, but not really my taste I always feel a bit uncomfortable with the sticky waxed table clothes. I had apple and parsnip soup, which was nice but a bit too hot (temp not spicy). My husband had quiche, which was served with salads. For dessert we had one of the famous Rhubarb Crumbles - which was more crumble then rhubarb - and coffee. Overall the food is ok, probably aimed for for visitors to the area rather then locals. I might try their new restaurant in Dun drum to see what it is like.

Can't understand how Poppies has received such positive reviews. Went here for lunch at the weekend and we got served overpriced reheated food, and we were sat at tables in a cramped space. You could possibly try it for coffee or dessert but I wouldn't be going back for lunch again. The lasagne we had was microwaved and tiny, and too expensive at over a tenner a portion.

Went in for tea and dessert. My mother used to love going when I was a child. Will go back for a meal and give it a propper review later...

Wonderful eatery. One tiny criticism. Really only an observation is that the menu is a bit short for me. Otherwise, it's a smashing place. Great staff. Good food. Keen prices. Great atmosphere. If you're anywhere near Enniskerry you should 'pop' in, even if it's just for a coffee. Trust me.

I love Poppies and have been coming here for about 20 years. One of my fav dishes is Poppies Chicken which reminds me of my childhood as we used to be brought to Poppies with my mother to share a portion of this scrummy creamy chicken with almonds and the unusual cornflake topping and then devour a slice of creamy chocolatey desert. Their coffee is excellent too. A really ralxing place to enjoy a Saturday afternoon treat alone or with friends. A must if you are in Enniskerry!
