The food at Hibernia was inoffensive and unremarkable when I ate there this week; I ate mussels, which are easy to do well, and they were nice but could have been cooked in a better sauce. My friend found her burger quite tasteless. However, we ate outside in the sun and had a very enjoyable afternoon.

Tried out the Hibernia recently and was not very impressed. Average pub menu, a large portion of sticky chicken wings was the highlight of a very average meal. The wings were tasty and filling, but lasagne with its sad salad did not impress. It is always very busy though so it could have been an off day.

Last time I had lunch there it was truly awful. There cannot be an excuse on this earth for how awful it was. Basically, what sounded like nice fish and chips on the menu (one lives in hope) turned out to be a really tiny long thin piece of cod in breadcrumbs that came from a packed of frozen fish (you know - the cheap kind where you get 6 pieces in a packet) with packet chips. Unbelievable and it wasn't cheap for that either. I don't think you would go to this place for the food (many of the pubs and hotels along the seafront serve better food), but it does have nice private and comfortable seating areas for a drink with mates and it is very friendly.

I recently had lunch with a friend in the pub. It was lovely. Very reasonable too. Good selection and fairly fast to serve you too. We had a couple of starters and we mixed and matched them and I had a veggie panini and my friend had steak, lovely, very fresh.

I recently had lunch in the Hibernia Inn and found the food great value. I ordered the King Prawn Stir-fry with sweet chilli sauce and a side of boiled rice. It was gorgeous and a steal for €9.95. The pints aren't bad either!
