Just on the seafront in Bray in co Wicklow, Katies is a friendly buzzy place with simple, good quality table settings in the smart restaurant bar, and food that is well above the usual expectation of “bar food” in terms of sourcing, cooking and presentation. We offer a modern menu of good dishes at very reasonable prices, many of them available either as starters or as main courses, and there is always a good traditional “specials of the day” menu on blackboards.

This restaurant is surprisingly good, the outside is very deceptive as inside the decor is beautiful. Food is excellent, I have eaten here twice now. Once for lunch- steak was great value at 10 euro and again for Sunday lunch. Each time the food was excellent but service is slow. I did not mind this for the lunch (the place was not busy but I wasn't in a rush) but the Sunday was very busy and very very slow- more staff needed. We had to ask continually for everything, menus, drinks, deserts...... I would not return on a Sunday but I would another time.

Have been here since they changed it to the restaurant in the function room, was recommended by a friend who thought it was great but wasn't too impressed with the food, nice atmosphere and great service so mayb it was just an off day in the kitchen.
