The quality of the food here is definitely above average when compared to other Indian restaurants in the area so I am bemused by some of the reviews here. They seem to me to have a real commitment to using a wide range of fresh herbs and spices and cooking authentic regional Indian dishes, and you can really taste the difference in the food. What I like most is that the vegetables are never mushy and soft as in many Indian restaurants, but taste much more fresh and cooked to order and still have some bite and nutrition in them. We do not eat meat, but we really enjoy dishes like the new Jhinga Gobi - an utterly addictive delicious Small Plate dish of crunchy prawns with cauliflower and broccoli in a fabulous tasting light sauce. In Starters, we love Batata Vada, two potato cakes with fresh lemon, ginger and coriander, stuffed with nuts, with a tamarind dip. We love most of their vegetable main courses - as I say the flavours of the fresh herbs and spices are really vibrant and above average. I consider the prices to be good value and they also have special offers, early birds, small plates, etc. This small chain of restaurants have won a lot of awards for their food and as a Bray resident I agree with those plaudits and I am really glad that we have them in Bray.

We ordered by phone and they were nice and efficient - we collected the meal as we live locally. We ordered Tandoori Prawns Masala, Tandoori Shaslik, Chicken Korma, Gosht Saagwala and Chicken Tika - we had a side of Saag Aloo and some Garlic Naans. It was all very bland and watery (and all tasted the same really) the naan bread didnt even have garlic in it! We were glad we had the Living Social discount as it would have been a very disappointing and expensive take out otherwise. Wont be going back, there are some other excellent Indian take outs in the area.

Got a takeaway from here. Ordered it online with a chosen delivery time of 7.45 (ordered at 7). The website allowed me select this time. After 8 no sign of the meal. I did ring but they were unable to undate me saying it left the premises at 7.15. Arrived at 8.20 over 30 minutes after required time and over 1 hour after leaving restaurant. Meal arrived cold. Can only say very standard. Can't critise the food but it is not mind blowing or amazing there are better indian takeaways around especially for the price. We had the Tiffin starter, pakora tasted bland, samosa tasteless. I had the Murgh Karadhai, again flavours masked by chilli, likewise my husband birjani. Had heard so many good things about Bombay Pantry and felt disappointed. I won't be going back.
