I ate here midweek with a group. I liked the decor and it was pleasantly dim inside - I prefer that to being too bright. There was only one other table but we were a large enough group to create our own atmosphere. Everyone complimented the food. I had the steak for main course and it was tasty and served with lovely onion rings. I would eat here again.

Visited this restaurant for the first time on Sat night, was warned service is slow but we went ahead. Restaurant itself is lovely, nice little rooms but maybe a bit dark. After arriving it took 20 mins for someone to take our order, staff just seem to be standing around the place. When they took our order they ask what we wanted to drink but never gave us a wine list. This took another 10 mins!! Starters came, a little bit slow but thats ok and they were nice. Another big gap between starter and main but again thats ok. The main dish was luke warm, like it was left hanging around under the heating like in the kitchen too long as plate was very hot. Took ages for someone to ask us if we wanted desert after we were done dinner. We decided not to have dessert and asked for the bill. This took another 10-15 mins and when we did get the bill and left it on the side of the table(very visible) they did not collect it. 20 mins later and I had to walk up to the counter to pay myself. The female staff seem to disappear every 10 mins and the male staff were only interested in the hen party and getting the girls attention. Will not go back here again.

Went there for lunch with my partner. Place is nice. Service is good. The food was bland. I orderd sea trout and it was just ok and the veg was not great. We also had a desert and this was pretty bland too. Chocolate brownie was dry and not very tasty. I wouldnt return on the basis of that visit. I would sacrifice comfort, service and surroundings for tasty food any day of the week.

I visited this restaurant for the first time last thursday evening. The waiter must have forgotten to light our candle even though was quiet for such a big place. My meal was not so tasteful for price I paid and my wife's mash was quite cold. Good food overall. Value is ok. I will go back!

Our second visit was not quite as good as the first. Food was mostly fine but not spectacular. We were kept waiting 20 minutes for our prebooked table and the service was a bit .....frantic. I suppose we ca n blame the bank holiday weekend.

Went to taste with a group of friends. We booked the table on their early bird menu. It is fantastic value for money and the food is beautiful. The stylish decor makes your experience more enjoyable. The protion size was very generous. Will be going back for sure and you should give it a go.

The food was reasonably good. There could have been a bit more taste in some of the dishes. The menu selection could be problematic for pregnant women who are off certain foods but the menu states you can ask for different food. The main course and dessert were delayed but that gave us a chance to digest in between courses. The main course (beef) came without the chips promised. The decaf coffee is instant but they do tell you if you ask. The presentation of the desserts was poor (but they tasted good).

I organised a meal in Taste for a group of friends as part of a hen weekend. I had a great experience from the very first phone call, to the time we left the restaurant. The table was decorated perfectly, the service was excellent and the food was outstanding! All of the girls were raving about the food on Saturday, I have never heard so many compliments about a restaurant - usually there is at least one negative comment but not one was heard about Taste! I would highly recommend the restaurant to anyone. The value and choice is amazing!

this place has to be one of the nicest places i have eaten in a while. the staff were so helpful and accomadating and the food was second to none. the wine list was reasonable and not overpriced like many similar upmarket restaurants can be. i would defnitely head back here given the chance and thought it was good value.

myself and my boyfriend went here during our stay in wexford. was a really nice restaraunt and we felt lucky to have chosen such a great place. the food was really nice and the service was excellent. it was a nice touch that we were given a small amount of the soup of the day each while waiting for our starters . i have no complaints about this place only for the steak being too big for me to finish! would definitely recommend if you like good quality food and staff

Ate here Easter Sunday with my Mother, wife and daughter. Mother had soup, lamb and apple and rhubarb crumble. Wife had pork belly, lamb and tiramisu. I had pork belly, lamb and poached pear. All 9 dishes were faultless and what made simple food so good here was the chef's superb use of ingredients, especially herbs and sauces. It all tasted like honest-to-goodness home cooking. My daughter chose from the children's menu and had the beefburger and chunky fries followed by a well presented ice cream sundae. Total damage for all food, glass of Italian red, gin and tonic and two cokes 85 euro. If i had a fault it would be that i chose the restaurant online due to its Easter menu but 10 of the 15 items had changed the following day when we arrived.

What an experience! A little gem tucked away in a quiet area of Wexford town. The minute you enter the place you realise you are somewhere special. We were greeted very warmly by the staff, given our choice of table but the real experience was yet to happen! We ordered their special 2 course meal for €21.95 and it was really divine. I had warm black pudden to start with followed by lemon sole - fantastic. My wife had a seafood risotto followed by venison - in her own words she "never tasted anything so wonderful". All I can say is bravo - atmosphere was great, staff friendly and food exceptional - I would recommend it to anyone who appreciates great food

We celebrated our new years at taste with a group of friends. The value was amazing, we had 4 courses and free flowing wine all night! I have been to taste many times and have always been very happy with the meal but what i love about Taste is the Atmosphere, it is so welcoming and inviting, the staff are very friendly but not forceful, it is always very professional yet relaxed. Well done keep up the good work :)

Visited Taste today for lunch. My first and only previous visit was shortly after it first opened, I was so disappointed I didn’t go back until today. What a change around. I had Risotto with haddock, sun dried tomato and peas. It was yummy. I also had a glass of Cab Sav red wine (Chilean) followed by an espresso. Total cost €17.95 not bad. The two waiters on duty were both knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. very good experience will be back again.

I visited Taste last Saturday night 4th April & I still can't get over how nice the waiters were, how yummy the food was, and how reasonably priced it was. I was in Wexford for my hen weekend & the girls had reserved the room upstairs. From what I heard the staff couldn't have been nicer in the run up to the night & let the girls in to decorate the room earlier that day & leave in the cake. Once we arrived we were all given a glass of sparkling wine curtesy of the restaurant which was a very nice touch. Everyone couldn't believe how reasonable the bill was at the end of the night, which is extremely rare these days. The food was so tasty & I think the 25 empty plates on the night said it all!

I visited Taste last night the 24th Jan. with two friends and just had to place a comment on this webpage. The restaurant itself has a lovley ambience, the service was top quality and the food was fabulous. I would recommend the Winter Special Menu (early bird), its fantastic value for money and it has great variety and even better it is available mid week up to 9:30 so there's no reason not to eat well at a very affordable price. This is by far the nicest restaurant in Wexford and comes highly recommended. I'll definitely be back.

God has a great sense of irony. Call yer ship "The Unsinkable" and watch as he picks an ice cube from his G&T and casually drop it in the North Atlantic. Call your restaurant "Taste" and you better watch out! I have so wanted to like this restaurant for so long, and it's solely down to the staff, they are darn nice. But every thing else is so "ooh dear...." The ambience is nice at a cursory glance until you release that it is all MDF and foam, giving an impression of quality until you get closer. The food is somewhat similar. Except for the MDF. Or the foam. Look, it's not bad but it's not wonderful either. It has pretentions of being pretentious but just doesn't have the wit, experience or talent to pull it off. It is average in the widest possible sense of the word, meaning if you are not expecting much then you won't be disappointed. Gods sense of irony continues....

Food was great. Had a prawns for starter, duck for main course and a delicious baked cheesecake for a dessert. But overall my bill was a bit high and service took quite long...

I had visited Taste previously, and thoroughly enjoyed my meal - my fish was melt in your mouth, the dessert, wine and starters were fabulous. However, I visited again, about 8 weeks ago (Sept 08) was I was soooo disappointed as I had been looking forward to eating here all week! Me and my three friends arrived at 9.30. Each of our starters and main courses were luke warm / cold. My friend ordered fish, and it arrived completely undercooked. The waiter tried to convince us the lights made it 'appear' undercooked!!! They took it away and cooked it, but my friend wasnt able to stomach it after that, and was very annoyed by the waiters response. I ordered the Monkfish tagliatelle, the fish was cold, and very tough. I ordered this dish the first time I visited Taste, and it was amazing but this version terrible in comparison! I just hope this was a once off, as I have heard great things otherwise about the restaurant.

Had a lovely sunday afternoon here recently. The interior is gorgeous particularly the booths which are very private and well done. Food was excellent. we arrived in at a down time and although the service was good I felt we were putting the staff out a little while they prepared for evening service. Desserts were gorgeous. Nice wine list too. Ill definatly be back to try out the evening menu

From the moment we entered the doors of Taste, we received excellent and friendly service. We were seated in the waiting area, served a glass of wine and given our menus to preview while we waited to be seated. The food was absolutely 5-Star and excellent value. The service was fantastic as the staff were not intrusive, and still we felt as though we were being looked after very well. As we were a party of 4, we would have loved to be seated at one of the gorgeous booths, however we were seated at a table and as the restaurant was quite busy, we did find it a little loud, but we still thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Will definately be paying another visit and highly recommend to those who havent yet experienced Taste. Gorgeous!

I have had the pleasure of eating in taste in the last few months since they have opened, most recently last night. Everything about this restaurant says class at very affordable prices. Fantastic atmosphere, excellent service and food that a michelin star restaurant would be proud off. If you haven't eaten there then you are missing out in a major way. Go to taste, you will not be dissapointed.

In my opinion Taste is one of the best restaurants in Wexford. I celebrated my Confirmation there in May. When I went in with my Dad I spoke with the owner named Greg. He was so polite and most helpful. He made me feel that my day was very important to him. On the day I was with all of my family. I had the Goat's Cheese wrapped in Parma ham with diced pumpkin and vegetables. It was so full of flavour and so filling. There were 13 of us and everybody enjoyed their meal greatly. Great food from a great chef. All of the staff in Taste made my Confirmation most enjoyable and I am looking forward to my next visit.

The best place quality wise in the whole of Wexford. Love the decor. Try and sit in the booths or the lower end of the restaurant. Avoid being seated near the service area or upstairs! I loved the food and that is the most important thing in my book. General opinion from people around in Wexford is.... Good food, but way too pricey. But then again these are the same narrow minded locals who rave about going to Fordes and will think nothing of paying euro 29 for a fatty piece of lamb served with mash potato in a spring roll! (yes, honest!) Unfortunately given 95% bland Irish attitudes to eating out "soup, following by steak with chips please" as the guy on the table next to me asked before he had even sat down, I think that this place will go over most of the locals heads. Stick at it guys, but watch your prices with the recession coming in! Some of your dishes are more than I would pay in Dublin!
