Le Tire Bouchon was again a very pleasurable experience. The 25.95 menu was as good as ever. The service was excellent and well timed, despite being busy. We bring our daughter (13 months) and they are always accommodating and always prepare her a nice mash. Their selection of wine is also very good. Can't wait for our next visit!

What can I say. I have only eaten here twice. The last time was the Monday of the Opera Festival. It was very busy. The food was wonderful and the service impeccable. As far as I am concerned it is the only restaurant in Wexford town worth it's salt. The starter of Camembert to share for two is to die for! I am looking forward to my next visit!

I'm originally from Wexford, and while I don't live there any longer I do try get back as often as possible. I went here with my wife for a nice Saturday night meal, and we were both pleasently surprised by the place. Firstly, you never expect to find fine dining like this upstairs over a bar! The food here was simply outstanding! I had steak, and it was cooked exactly like I wanted. A wonderful experience. Unfortunately we didn't have room left for desert, so next time we're back (hopefully soon) I might just skip the starter to see what they're like.

Had a great meal at this restaurant with my wife. There is a good menu choice with the option of a 5 course menu for a set price or you can order from the more extensive full Menu. We ordered from the full Menu. The food and food presentation was fantastic, especially the Venison, which was cooked perfectly and tasted spectacular. They also provide plenty of side veg. For desert I recommend the Baked Alaska, which is a bit different than I've had before but is really good. Overall the atmosphere was good, with lots of couples and groups filling the tables. Our waitress was very attentive and checked with us regularly. I will visit here again whenever in Wexford.

Had a very nice meal here with my wife and will be back. It was a Saturday night so the restaurant was pretty full and the ambiance was nice and relaxed. We chose from the A La Carte menu and decided to try the wine recommended with each course, this was a novel treat and the wines went well with the food. The amuse bouche was extremely tasty and a nice surprise. Starters of duck and prawn were lovely. For main course my wife had the sole on the bone with toasted almonds and was cooked to perfection and tasted wonderful. My John Dory was very nice also but would prefer the sole. We shared a chocolate fondant which tasted amazing. Finished off with a large cheese board. Bill came to €134 excluding tip which wasn't cheap but was worth the treat.

How to spend a lovely evening! 6 of us eat here on Saturday night and we really enjoyed the night. The atmosphere is very relaxed, staff are very friendly, efficient and not intrusive. Prior to us receiving our starters we received a complimentary dish which was yummy, this consist of a little pot of shredded chicken with tomato served with a variety of breads. A nice touch. For starters I had Pan fried red mullet which was very tasty. The others choose Confit of Rabbit, Home Rolled Black Pudding stuffed with Toulouse Sausage and Pan fried Dublin Bay Prawns, served in a Filo basket. Everyone was very happy with their starters and I particularly like the way they provide a recommend wine accompaniment of each starter and main course and a recommended coffee or each dessert. A nice amount of time is given between courses so when my 8oz fillet of Beef arrived I was ready for it. However I didn’t see the point of the toast and I thought the fillet to be a bit on the small piece given the cost. The others loved theirs which all consisted of Venison Steaks. I did plan only looking at the dessert menu but having seen the table next to us the girls had to order desserts while the 3 guys had French Coffees instead. I had the baked Alaska which was absolutely heaven! And unable to avoid temptation I tasted my friends chocolate fondant which also belonged to the heavenly of desserts family. We were almost 3 hours there and it was a lovely way to catch up with friend and spend a very relaxing Saturday night. Downstairs from this restaurant is a great pub which we headed to afterwards. I look forward to my next visit to Wexford and to this great restaurant.

I ate here on a Saturday night with my boyfriend after hearing great reviews. The atmosphere was very good and the restaurant filled up quickly even though we sat at 6. The décor is a cross between Irish café and French bistro. It would probably look more French if they got rid of the wood panelling. Service was excellent. We had the 5 courses plus 1 glass of wine for €25 which is an amazingly good value menu and is the main reason why we left happy with the meal and looking forward to coming back for an á la carte. However if we had been paying á la carte prices we probably would have been unhappy with the standard of the food. Both our starters weren't great. The mussels were ok, but didn't taste of much. The goats cheese and bacon salad seemed to be dressed entirely in olive oil. The leaves were saturated in it. The bacon underneath the cheese completely overpowered the flavour of the goats cheese and if I hadn't been so hungry I probably wouldn't have eaten it. Both our mains were good. The rib-eye was strange though. It was perfectly round and very thin. It tasted nice but was the strangest looking steak I've ever seen. It looked almost processed. For dessert, the poire belle helen was very good and came with its own jug of chocolate sauce. A nice touch for chocolate sauce fiends like myself. The tarte tatin was ok but a bit of a let down. The apple had obviously been cooked separately from the pastry and then stacked for service, to save time I imagine. Unfortunately it lost flavour in the process. The apples weren't sticky enough or caramelised enough and the pastry was a little dense. All in all, for the price of it we couldn't really complain and it was good enough for me to want to come back to try the á la carte. However if I received the same standard of food and paid significantly more I would be fairly unhappy about it.

even though we visited on a tuesday night, le tire bouchon was busy with a great atmosphere. we opted for the5 course menu. i had the goats cheese salad which was beautiful, very well balanced. the strawberry and basil sorbet was gorgeous and very refreshing. for the main course i had the sea bass which was melt in the mouth, the mash that accomopanied it was quite sparse however. the tarte tatin was beautiful, however i would question the need for the rice risotto which accompanied it as in my opinion it took away from the dish. overall a pleasant experience.

As a lone diner I visited this restaurant on a Monday night, I was pleasantly surprised to find a large number of people there of a Monday night. I went for the special menu , which was very good value for money. The sorbet was wow (Strawberry & Basil). The service was excellent, polite, courteous staff. Most enjoyable experience will be back again.

Can't fault it. Atmosphere great, lovely buzz but not too much noise. Dinner was amazing had a bit of everyones, I hate duck but it was fantastic would definitely order it there. Pasta beautiful ....fresh flavours and light. Steak fab! Chef...gorgeous! 11 of us dined out with a few fuss pots thrown in and everyone had a great meal with not 1 complaint. I would highly recommend this for groups or romantic couples.... what a great addition to Wexford town.

Our party of four enjoyed a wonderful dining experience here. Having relished a wide and varied number of menus nationwide and indeed worldwide this restaurant is on a par with the best. The menu is varied and the food magnificently presented and the quality is top class. From slow roasted pork belly to succulent fillet steak we were not disappointed on the evening. The service, while attentive, is unobtrusive. The atmosphere lent itself to the occasion extremely well. All in all it was a long leisurely meal enjoyed to the full by all who partook. The price reflected that we are certainly out of "Celtic Tiger" times - a welcome conclusion to an enjoyable culinary adventure. We'll be back!!!.

8 of us ate here last week, all going for the early bird....it's all or nothing at the table i.e. everyone has the early bird or no-one. Great value at 23.95, service was a bit slow although they apologised for this saying that everyone had come in at the same time. The wine aperitif was lovely and all starters were finished, the goats cheese salad was lovely and strong. All mains were approved of except one found their duck a bit salty but no-one else had this complaint and the quiche was dreadful...soggy pastry with a mountain of cheese just melted on top. This however was the only let down of the evening. The deserts were all finished; the Breton pudding was a bit different, the mille feuille fab! All in all a lovely evening and good value, would definitely go back.

Being a VERY fussy group of eaters we often dread going out to dine as we have a Vegetarian and a Coeliac in the mix which can often leave us very dissapointed with our meals, me being the vegetarian the options are usually a stir fry or pasta, to my suprise there were 2 lovely dishes to choose from both sounding equally as delicious as the other, one was spinach and ricotta tortelloni with pesto and gruyere cream and the other being roast red pepper and goats cheese tartlets with Rocket and pine nut salad.I went with the Tarlets this without doubt has to be the most beautiful dish I have ever tasted, My Coeliac friend was also very suprised with the wide range of dishes that she could choose from and how they are marked so clearly on the menu, also each dish on the menu has a wine recomendation beside it which is a very nice touch. All of the other girls in the group also had amazing meals. For dessert I would highly recommend the hot chocolate fondant this was to die for and went down well with all of the chocolate lovers amoung us. All of the staff were very very nice and helpfull and the value is great, We could not fault Le Tire Bouchon in any way. without doubt this was the best meal myself and the group have ever had and will definitley be returning to try out the other dishes on the menu, although I think I will be ordering the chocolate fondant again......yummmmm. Compliments to the Chef

I took Number One Son here before we visited the Wildfowl Reserve for a bat and moth walk, so the Early Bird was appropriate. What value! I had the Domaine des Cassagnoles as aperitif, while No 1 Son had some lemonade. I followed with Pork Rilletes on toast with garden leaves, which went down very well and was replete with savour, while my boy had the moules mariniere, for that is what they were. He enjoyed these, finishing the bowl, but said his taste veered more towards the provencale style. We cleared our palates with a neat little lemon sorbet, then hit the mains. Poached Smoked Haddock with Mousseline potato and wholegrain mustard cream for the young fella — he managed to wolf the whole lot, but for a little potato, and pronounced it excellent. I did the same to my confit of duck, which came with carrot and parsnip puree and wild mushroom sauce. The duck was absolutely delightful, melting from the bone and full of flavour, the veg puree smooth and fulsome. Could we manage dessert? Yes, we did. Creme Brulee for me — last time I had creme brulee, the caramelised 'lid' almost needed an icepick to break through, so thick was it, and I hadn't risked this dish again until now. Good move: thin crust, just right, not burnt, and the creme beneath was divine. The boy's poire belle Helene was full and rich, and he just could not finish it. But he wanted to take the remainder home, so he liked it OK! We had tea and coffee, and this entire meal came in at €23.95 each. For quality and value, no complaints whatever. We'll be back to try the a la carte. Service was friendly and attentive and we enjoyed the whole thing. What more could you want?

Delicious. Fantastic value set menu €24/pp for bistro style. Very friendly staff. Kind enough to substitute a cheese plate for the desserts and not charge a supplement (and quite a decent size cheese plate too!). Good house wines to accompany meal. One really really fabulous dessert _red_ wine, unusual and delicious. One of, without a shadow of a doubt, the best meals, all-round, we've had in a long long time. With a bottle of sparkling water and a glass of chablis and the aforementioned red dessert wine, dinner for 2 at 7pm on a Saturday for €67. A healthy tip was earned, and left. Can't recommend enough. Next time we're in Wexford, we'll be back!

After hearing so many good things abouth this place - my wife and I decided to book a table in this restaurant for our wedding anniversary. We have been welcomed by a french waiter and surprisingly we've got a champagne on arrival!!! (found out after that my wife mentioned to them that it was our anniversary). Service was excellent and you could see that waiters (all french) have been doing that job for a living. Food was delicious to mention a few things, that blew our minds: scallops, beef rossini and choc fondant! We actually felt like being if France for a while with all staff speaking with very strong french accent. We definitely will be back but this time we will try 5-course menu for 23,95...

Mediocre. On arrival I thought the place looked quaint, however on further inspection it actually turned out to be a great paint job and a few cheapish DIY tricks, The waiter was pleasant, the atmosphere was pleasant if somewhat boring but the food oooh la la, non non non. Wasn't impressed and am sorely disappointed because I had heard fantastic things about the place. Try live up to your reviews guys, maybe we caught you on a bad night!!!

I've eaten here on numerous occasions and this is my second review. I don't normally do second reviews but it deserves one. They have a new menu running that's simply amazing value. 5 course meal plus wine for 23.95. I always have full a la carte but I tried this last week and all I can say is wow. To be honest, ya can't expect a lot for 23.95 but what ya get here and the quality of it is superb. I doubt there's a better deal in the country, in Leinster anyway. Good luck to'em

I arrived with my girlfriend and four other tables were occupied. This small number didn't detract from the atmosphere which was of sophisticated elegance with tables decked out in tables cloths and napkins to match. Despite the small number of dinners we were placed within inches of another couple. The menu matched the upmarket feel of the restaurant. We both went for the curried kumara and coconut milk soup. Sounded interesting but failed to hit the taste buds and ended up tasting bland. The prawn risotto followed and the prawns were spot on, unfortunately the plate of stodgy risotto that they were burried in made me fish them out. When I told the waiter the risotto was overcooked he simply said "oh". We skipped desserts, nothing jumped off the menu and the price tag of €9.95 to match each one put me off. I didn't want to pay any more for a meal that disappointed so far. A strong double espresso capped it off and it was spot on. After asking for the bill both we and the table next to us waited some time to get the attention of the waiter to take our credit cards away. Unfortunatley I can't say I had value for money on the night I visited. Great atmosphere, but the food fell short in a big way. These types of restaurants were aplenty one or two years ago, but charging these prices for very mediocre food in a regional town in a time where people are feeling the pinch in their pockets I reckon something big will have to change in order for Le Tire Bouchon to survice. I won't be rushing back.

I really enjoyed this place. Although the menu wasn't enormous...the food they do server is delicious. Theres a nice relaxing atmosphere which is nice considering so many restaurants these days have the policy "eat and get out"!! The price was resonable aswell. We will be going back most likely

Myself and my wife eat here last Friday evening. The restaurant was very quiet but somehow this did not affect the atmosphere. The service was excellent and the food delicious. We generally went with their wine selection and it proved to be spot on, even down to the port with the cheese course. I would recommend this restaurant unreservedly.

We went here on Sunday night and it was very quiet but this didn't affect the atmosphere. I had been here before and didn't realise it had changed owners. The food was excellent and the service very good and as said by others not intrusive. The prices were equivalent to Dublin prices but it was worth it for the meal we had. Would definitely recommend and will return.

What a fantastic restaurant! We ate here this time last year when we visited Wexford and rushed back this time. We didn't realise it was under new ownership. It is better than the old restaurant (and we were really impressed with the old one.) The service is absolutely brilliant - friendly without being intrusive and so professional. The food is fantastic. My husband is still talking about the wild boar terrine starter. They catered well for vegetarians - I had soup of the day (coconut and sweet potato) and for mains goats cheese tartlets with rocket salad. The dessert was delicious. We had a lovely bottle of wine, which was served at the perfect temperature. I know where my first stop in Wexford will be next time!

My partner and I dined in Le Tire Bouchon for Valentines and I must say we have been raving about this restaurant to family and friends since! The atmosphere was lovely, the food was devine and the wine was beautiful. We both had the Ostrich for main course which tasted every bit as good as it looked! My partner had the chocolate fondant for desert while I had the Crepes Suzettes. We were most impressed with the standard of the service and appreciate that each staff member really knew their stuff! We felt obliged to leave a generous tip given the standard of the service and the overall experience. A superb addition to Wexford's dining options.

As the name suggests this restaurant is a must for wine lovers (it means The Cork Screw in case you are wondering). The food was superb and in a different class from any other restaurant in town. Great attention to detail.

I had dinner here with a friend whom I hadn't seen for a while. Neither of us had been before. The atmosphere is excellent - the lighting is at just right level and the music is just right for conversation. The food is absolutely excellent. I can speak for the stuffed black pudding, sea trout and the chocolate fondant - all superb. The free sorbet was also delicious. I also had a glass of port wine so good I ended up buying a bottle from their stock to take home. The service was just right - there when needed and not constantly hovering around. A nice touch was that the server prepared my friend's dessert on a miniture gas ring by the table. Great value for money as well. I am delighted to have found Le Tire Bouchon and look forward to returning in the near future.

We've been waiting for a top class restaurant in Wexford town for some time and this one fits the bill. 5 stars across the board. Champagne by the glass is a great touch, as was the sorbet course (free might I add, but sorry if I spoiled the surprise) Michelin Star quality in little old Wexford. Can't wait to go back. Highly Recommended!!!!

Had Sunday lunch here with a couple of friends before returning to Dublin. This restaurant is as good as any I'v been to in the capital and better than most. I couldn't fault it on anything and the food was outstanding. Myself and my friends will certainly return to sample the dinner menu on our next visit to Wexford.

Came here after a recommendation from the owner of a hotel in rosslare strand which we were staying in. He built the place up a bit like it was his own (which i thought was strange). we wernt disappointed i can tell ya. Food, service all excellent. House wine was even delicious. We had a 2 glasses of champagne which they sell by the glass, again i thought this was strange as no one else does it. An extra option for customers i suppose. everything was great but the baked alaska was fantastic, ya just cant get them anymore but this was so tasty and my wife had the crepes cooked at the table by the waiter, when they put the alcahol on and set it on fire. amazing. All in all was like a mitchelin star thing ya see on telly. will defo be back for sure. john cork

I stumbled upon this little gem restaurant, when you walk in to the restaurant, it's like walking in to your own living room, it's warm and cosy and full of atmosphere. The bar looks pretty cool with all the wine crates. If I had to put a finger on anything that struck me about this restaurant, I'd have to say attention to detail and flavour. Food is amazing, service is excellent. We found out later from talking to people that the chef was Kevin Dundons sous chef in Dunbrody Country House for 2 years. So that explains a lot. We will most certainly be back and we will defintely be recommending to people. For a restaurant not open even 2 months, the place reeks of professionalism. well done and keep it up. Mary in Dublin
