My partner & I had a meal in Wild Spice recently, we chose this restaurant on the recommendations of other Menu pages reviews and it being a Friday night in Gorey we booked a table. We were a little bit disappointed when we arrived at the restaurant to find that we were their only two diners, it would appear that the take-away menu does a better business than the restaurant. Having said that the food was excellent and there was plenty of it too. Their prices are a little on the high side and we failed to ask if they had reduced their prices due to the new VAT rate of 9%. I would recommend the restaurant for an Indian meal but if you are on a tight budget like ourselves be prepared for the high prices.

Have been a take away user of this restaurant since it opened and though found it a bit pricey, the food is always quite nice and the delivery is fast. However once we were coming through Gorey from Dublin after 10pm, starving and to our surprise they still accepted customers in the restaurant> The service was amazingly efficient and, again quite surprisingly, the atmosphere was amazing ( we have never considered it as a go out place before). It is very cosy, love the terracotta paint job- really gets your appetite going))) We had one of the best nights of all time eating out in Gorey. The owner is a fantastic chef- real deal great quality Indian guaranteed!

i ate at this restaurant on a Friday. I have been there many times before and once again the food and service were excellent. The waiting staff made it very easy to order by explaining any thing your not familiar with on the menu and the food arrived in no time at all.Good wine, a great atmosphere and a warm welcome meant that the perfect romantic meal for two was achieved:)

Had a very pleasant take-away from Wild Spice last night. This is about my third visit, and although I've not dined on premesis you can tell the atmosphere and service is good, once you step in. Great variety menu and anything I've ever had has been really tasty and of a very high quality. As with a lot of Indian restaurants the price rises due to adding rice and breads. Recommended.

Went yet again to wonderful Wild Spice last evening. As usual food was really good - fresh, hot and so tasty, You can really identify with the spices and herbs used. The King Prawn Dopiaza is a winner! The garlic nan is so scrumptious and always 'melt in the mouth'. The house white wine is excellent, too. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere even when not busy - staff are so friendly and helpful. We are so lucky in Gorey to have such a great Indian restaurant on our doorstep!

I ate here on Wed night with three friends, it was my third visit here in a year and again the food was excellent. It is probably one of the best Indian restaurants in Ireland (and I have tried many). I would strongly recommend the Tandoori Prawn starter which comes with a really fresh mango salad and I then had the Lamb Dopiaza which is so tender it melts in your mouth. Make it your business to visit this gem and you will not be dissappointed.

At the last minute on Sat night, I browsed through the take-out fliers and decided on Wild Spice. I selected Palak Paneer, Chana Masala, GOC Naan and WOW! I was expecting 'middle of the road' but I'm going back again this week. The food is fresh and the flavours are rich and tasty that you just keep wanting more. Probably some of the freshest Indian food I've had in Ireland. Let's hope it'll be as good this week as this review is after only one experience!!

Fabulous place, slightly expensive but with the food being 10/10 you don't mind splashing out now and then. Service was a bit slow and we were the only 3 in the restaurant on a quiet Thursday night but the atmosphere was relaxing and they didn't keep hovering around the table. Lots of take aways going out though which was a good sign. Have had take away since - Try the Afghani Naan Bread - Its addictive!

I have been to this restaurant lots of times and I love it, food is always beautiful. Sometimes the service can be slow, but overall it's great. I dont like the general layout of it cos it's quiet small, but it does have the most amazing food!!!! Def recommend

4 of us went to this restaurant on a saturday night. The place was absolutely jammed with people eating in and waiting for takeaways. The food was all absolutely delicious, everyone was very impressed and the selection was huge. The service & the drinks left a lot to be desired though. There was only 1 waitress and the owner working the floor and it took about 25 minutes before our order was taken and we received poppadoms. The white wine arrived and it hadn't been in the fridge so was warm and tasted bad until it chilled in the ice bucket. On 3 seperate occasions we asked for more drinks to be brought to the table and they took from the time that our starters were collected until our dessert arrived to get there. All in all, the visit to the restaurant was pleasant. i would go back on another occasion as the food was gorgeous but maybe they should think about getting some more waiting staff for busy periods!

It was our first time, and from the start of the booking till we left the restaurant it was a fantastic experience. As one of the group was unsure about the spicy food, when I emailed to enquire about an alternative I was offered Steak or Chicken with veg and cooked to her requirements, but we encouraged her to try the menu and try the menu we all did. We were made very welcomed on arrival and nothing was too much trouble for the whole evening, the food, service, facilities and atmosphere was fantastic and what value for money. A great evening was had by all, and we will return soon. This is a restaurant well worth the visit.

It was my first time to visit this restaurant. I went on a Saturday night with my boyfriend the atmosphere was lovely with both couples and groups eating there. Very good for conversation as there was background music which didnt interfere with conversation and added to the atmosphere. The food was beautifully presented, fresh and plentiful. The starter platter was presented on a bed of roast peppers and tomato, each of us got a plate with some nice salad to accompany the starters. The mains were very tasty. I not having a taste for anything hot had lots to choose from and ordered a chicken dish with an almond, pastachio and yogurt sauce it was beautiful with pailu rice. Himself had a spicy dish which he loved. The nann bread was like nothing we had seen before very generous in size and extreamly moreish went very well with the sauce. After a big meal we still made room for desert the menu again had something for all tastes and didnt disappoint. The meal was reasonably priced including the wines and beers. This place is lovely and well worth a visit. The tables are set very nicely, cutlery and glasses ect are spotless which is always a good sign!!!! I will definatley be going back again!

We deceided to try the new Indian in town as we were told it was quite good. Its small, not very inviting and the food is not that great. We found it bland and sloppy. There are better places to eat in Gorey so we wont be back

I have now eaten in Wild Spice twice. The food is a veretible mouthgasm-sumptious flavours in perfect union created for your delectation. Try the lamb labadar. Inside the decor is sympathetically presented and thoughfully arranged. I am particularily taken with the carved wooden elephant and the subtle colour scheme. First impressions are especially favourable. The staff are attentive, knowledgeable and never ever pushy. A very helpful description is added to each dish providing the diner with ample information but the chief and can be called to provide an account of the carefully crafted menu packed with quality ingredients. Wild Spice is licenced and they have an extensive wine and beer list. I'd be surprised if you didn't find something to suit your pallet. On-street parking is available outside the restaurant but as with all County towns one needs to observe the omnipresence of double yellows and traffic wardens. All in all a very favourable experience. Tasty, food in a relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere. Great value for money. I'll be back without a doubt. Highly recommended!!

I was delighted to see this place opened in gorey as I love indian food and gorey was really screaming out for a great indian takeaway. Unfortunately, the food was very very disappointing! I got a takeaway of my usual chicken korma and it was watery and very bland.I havent had a sit down meal yet and probably wont either, the restaurant is extremely small and very uninviting. All the tables are on top of each other and I would imagine one would have to whisper! Very disappointing and I wont be returning.

I was here a couple of days before Christmas with a group of friend ands was really impressed. For some of the group it was the first Indian restaurant they had been to and it couldn’t have been a better first experience! We found the service very friendly and attentive and the food was exquisite in a relaxed atmosphere. Really look forward to going back and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to try somewhere new

This place is amazing! Lovely food, service and atmosphere. Would highly recommend it for a sit down meal or a take away. The best Indian I have ever tasted by far.
