Wow, what a hidden gem this place is. Last night myself and the other half sampled this place for the first time, and it did not dissapoint. We ordered from the fixed menu, starters of pate and chicken wings were amazing, for mains we had the steak and seabass. A perfect house red accompanied the meal and the desserts were to die for. The athmosphere and the service was excellent, being a chef myself I usually look for faults in every aspect. This was a good honest well ran establishment, and other restaurants could use it as a benchmark. When we finished we had a couple of pints of aurthur, down below in Jimmyz. A great way to finish of the evening, the only small upset was I got into a row with a chap called " Fred",

beautiful food. The surf and Turf is amazing! The early bird is brilliant value. 2 course meal for 19 euros. And the chicken wings are gorgeous! I love the place

this was my favourite restaurant until last night. they changed the menu and the quality of food was poor to say the least. pate starter was lovely, venison sausage starter was nice but was served with a ring of very dry mashed potato. main course of baked cod was disgraceful at 25euro for two small dry pieces ot cod tail on ring of dry mash olthough the chorizo and spinach was nice.main course of pork . medallions were 5 overcooked dried rashers of pork on yet another ring of dried mash. somehow i think this kitchen would grind to a halt if someone hid the tool used to shape the dry mash. cant fault the service as the staff are always lovely. really hope the food gets back on track as theres a lovely atmosphere in this restaurant

this restaurant has changed hands several times over the past six or seven years with varied results. i visited it in august to see what the latest tenants have to offer. firstly, this restaurant lacks a clearly defined entrance, you have to enter through the adjoining pubs side entrance and ascend a narrow staircase. this instantly rules out any wheelchair bound customers. also, the restaurant lacks any baby changing facilities, although the staff accomodated us as best they could. aside from this, i had an extremely plesant dining experience. the service was excellent. the restaurant was very family orientated, despite the lack of changing facilities and most importantly, they know how to cook a good steak. my fillet was perfectly cooked, as was my partners fish. the restaurant floor is spacious, airy and beautifully presented and i feel that if the management could address the minor issues, that this restaurant has potential for greatness. keep up the good work big man !

We were here at Christmas time with a group of girlfriends, overall the place was great, food was lovely, service was excellent, and they really made our night enjoyable. But I have been back since and unfortunately the food was absolutely terrible, the service awful and very over priced for the terrible standard of food, i have heard the previous chef is now gone. I really wouldn't recommend it...its such a pity!

I’ve been to Harbour Road about ten times since it opened and the food and service are never anything less than perfect. A large and varied menu enables me to try something different every time and it’s all at great value prices. The seafood and steaks are fantastic as are the fajitas and Thai curry. There is something for everyone on the menu. Well worth my regular taxi from Gorey.

First visit to Harbour Rd was spoilt by a rowdy crowd at an adjoining table but we were impressed enough to give it another try. Just as well because it was excellent. Seafood chouwder was great as was the surf and turf and the best lamb we have had for a long time. Monkfish was praised by our guest and the price is about right and a lot better value than places not nearly as good.

Well what can I say but well done. From the moment me and my wife walked in, we submitted to one of the most enjoyable nights we have had in a long long time and I truly mean that. The service was excellent, the food was top class and it was very reasonable at €87 for a three course meal and a bottle of wine. I had the crab cake which was fresh and chunky. My wife had the pan fried scallops which were cooked to perfection. Then for mains I had the loin of lamb which was superb and my wife had the duo of lobster and fillet steak which we very rarly see these days. And to finish we both had the homemade mixed berry ice cream which was wonderful. Hats off to the Harbour Road, keep it up.
