This restaurant accommodated 20 of us in one sitting - everybody had a fantastic meal and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Would definitely come back here! Couldn't fault it.

This was our 2nd visit to Hatters and we expected much more. The mussels were not available, they come in on Thursdays. We ordered a rare fillet steak and the Fajitas. The steak was charred although the centre of the meat was cooked perfectly, but having that burnt exterior was not pleasant. The Fajitas' sauce was more Asian then Mexican and over powered the chicken and beef, they tasted the same. Hatters is easily accessible and the ambience is good, except for the owner/ manager who intended to be attentive but instead ended loitering around. We have to admit that we were disappointed with this visit as we had high expectations after our first visit in July. That first time we were blown away by the perfectly cooked fillets and amazing fresh mussels, we even ordered desserts that time. For the price of the food the quality did not match.

My husband & I booked here due to the other reviews posted. We had never been to Athlone before so had no idea where to go. I have to say the atmosphere, food, price, service were all fantastic and I would highly recommend to friends or family heading to Athlone for a short break. The chicken fajita is the best I've ever tasted I would have licked the plate if I thought nobody could see me :-) My husband said that his steak had a lovely flavour and was excellent quality meat.

Me & my husband visted this restaurant on saturday last. We were very pleased with it. The service was very good and the food was very very tasty and the portions size's were very generous. The only little fault that we had was that we in the corner of the dining room - with a table of 18 to one side of us and a table of 15 to the other side of us so we did find it a bit noisy. We would highly recommend this restaurant and if we were dining out again in Athlone we would make this our first choice. Reservation is recommended.

One of my favorite restaurants in Athlone. The atmosphere, the staff and the food was excellent. Had the Brie and the duck which were excellent and you cant leave without trying the signature cheese cake (to die for).

I ate here one monday night in august, and what can i say, i'm usually a very fussy eater, and pull meals apart to the very fundamentals and examine all components separately, but this place changed me, from the moment we arrived i forgot all my usual habits off timing the waitress to take drinks orders, etc. etc. and i just enjoyed myself, i believe its what eating out is meant to be about. the only reason i've deducted points on service is because i still can't forget everything there were one or two areas for improvement, but the atmosphere was amazing, i think it is hard to put atmosphere into rooms, but this restaurant is brilliant, after dinner here we retired upstairs to gerties for a drink, another hidden gem in athlone,
