Consistently good bar menu, chowder, steak sandwiches, pasta, mussels, prawns, chicken wings etc. Fantastic location on the quay in Dungarvan, and generally very nice staff. Fish and chips always good. Well worth a look. Good coffee too. Lovely atmosphere, authentic quayside pub with a marine vibe.

Fantastic beer garden at the side of the bar, where I had lunch with my sister the other day. We both just had sandwiches with our drinks but they were absolutely delicious! Have never had such a well filled, tasty sandwich in a pub which was just opening up for the day. The staff were friendly and welcoming and were very accommodating to us and our dog, with whom we were allowed to sit in the beer garden without any fuss or problem. Great place to go for food or just for drinks and definitely worth recommending to others.

I love to have a nosh in bars/pubs. They usually have great athmosphere and you can enjoy a proper pint! The Moorings feels like a real local pub....not the feel at all of a pub/restaurant. I'll explain more later. We sat just to the back of the bar, after asking the barman were we ok still for food. "I'll don't know, but I will check for you". O dear...hungry boy and girl tonight??? He came back and said that it's ok to order. This was not easy as we were ignored. Anyway, we ordered 2 fish and chips expecting, as I have always had in the past, white chunky fish like cod ot haddock. It was plaice which is not in my top 10 of fish. It tasted fishy and was rather thin. Getting the bill was not easy either and I had to go and look for it. It was then after going through a door that I realised we had been seated in the bar itself and not the bistro!! NOT what I wanted nor expected. Why were we not told the restaurant was further back? There were empty tables so was this to suit the staff?? Why was there an issue ordering when we were there at 20.45 and last orders were at 21.00??? There was a guy, beside us, setting himself up for the evenings entertainment which wasn't cool when you are eating.

The food is ok here, (we ate in the pub)but if you like your mug of tea plonked in front of you with a tea bag in it then this place is for you. If you like listening to grunge style music, while having your lunch! The place has not been decorated in about 25 years and really could be do with an update. Food is ok, big plates of food, lots of coleslaw and chips with everything. Unremarkable.

Have eaten the bar food here a couple of times and always does the job. Nothin too fancy but what you want whilst having a few drinks. The seafood chowder is gorgeous, chicken wings are also nice as are the fish and chips.

Step back through time (i.e. The bar..although there may be another entrance this way is worth a look) and you will find a comfortable and intimate restaurant with good (nothing too fancy)food ... I like the fish and chips best ..Enjoy a stroll after your meal.Small and opening times are a bit erratic so make contact first..The bar serves food all the time.
