Generally recommended. Very reliable for lunch and early dinner, most of the service staff are very good. Modern food, things like clam pasta, lamb shank, couscous as well as more old reliables. Last time I had the lime and chilli prawn linguine, it was good. The kids had chowder to start, also very good. Can''t recall the prices, but they are reasonable, so no cribs on value for money. Good wine choice by the glass, good European beers on tap. They stock a new range of Dungarvan Brewing Company beers, bottle conditioned, a gold ale, a red ale and a stout, I like the gold one (Helvick Gold) and love the red one (Copper Coast). Nice decor too, if a bit dark. Staff could engage a bit more with customers. It was full last Sunday, that tells its own story I guess.

Went to Queallys for Sunday Lunch with a friend of mine that lives in Dungarvan. From the outside it gives the impression of being a standard pub serving food however inside there are proper dining tables and chairs. The food was great - wide variety for all tastes. We ordered the sunday special roasts ( Roast Beef and Roat Leg of Lamb) and my friend ordered the Bangers and Mash. All of the food was lovely tastey and no need for extar seasoning which in my book is always a plus. The desserts were lovely as well. The only down side that I could see was that alot of the dishes contained nuts and if you're not a fan of nuts then this is a minus. The homemade icecream that came with my dessert had nuts mixed through it which were not declared on the menu. Some of the waiting staff were a bit fraselled but then it was quite busy. Overall I would rate it 4.5 out of 5 and would definitely go back.

My wife works in Dungarvan and we have been there every so often but I had an impression that it was a bit of a blackhole for nice places to eat. However we tried Quealy's a couple of Saturday's ago and I was pleasently surprised with the quality of the food. The front part of Quealys seems to be a pub but at the back there is a small resturant area. I would say is that it could do with a little more lighting. The resturant maintained the dark atmosphere of the pub at the front. Also because it is small there isn't a lot of space between tables if you are wheeling a buggy. There was a good selection on the Menu and I went for a Penne with goats cheese which was really nice and would be one of the nicest lunches I've had in a while. My wife had the sausages and mash which when it arrived was very tasty BUT initially they messed up our order and gave her a chicken dish instead. It wasn't as if they were busy and confused tables as we seemed to be the only order on the go and the chicken dish was still sitting at the kitchen window when we left. My sister in law had a fish and chips which consisted of nicely battered cod, chunky chips and nice salad. My main complaint was two dishes arrived around 15 minutes before the corrected sausages and mash. That left the experience somewhat disjointed. On balance I would go back for lunch for the food but I would double check the order after they wrote it down.

Ate here on a Sunday night when we were in Dungarvan for a few days. I had a goats cheese salad for starter. This was nice expect that there was hard slices of baguette in the salad which added nothing to it. My husband had a salmon terrine which was fine. I had a confit duck leg with red cabbage for main. This was lovely but more of a winter dish I thought. My husband had steak which was nice. For dessert we shared a lemon tart. So in summary the food was fine, nothing amazing and quite expensive for what it is. Our waitress was very forgetful!

Hadnt been here for ages but was back again for lunch recently. Food good, always sure of a good lunch. Nice to have a few wines offered by the glass. Chowder particularly good. Is a lovely cosy spot in winter time for an early evening meal. Would recommend.

Had an excellent dinner. The food is good value and of exceptional quality. The service is good and informal. The decor in the bar in particular is really nice – it’s a traditional Irish pub, but painted in Farrow and Ball colours. The food ranges from hearty homemade chowders and sours, through to game and fairly sophisticated dishes. Highly recommended.
