After spending the previous morning having breakfast in our hotel we decided to go out for breakfast this morning. So walking around the city center we came across Sumatra which on first impressions seemed ok.We ordered our food and twenty minutes later still no food however we did receive four orange juice an tea for free for the delay but unfortunately there was the remains of someones lipstick on my 13 year olds glass which is not very pleasant. Finally we got our breakfast and it came out swimming in grease, yuck. It seems to me that the staff were there to do a job and that there was no pride or passion in there work.

Four of us looking for somewhere to eat on Sunday, and this place provided the answer. Nice atmosphere, great service, good value. Will go there again. Only complaint, the fish pancake was a tad salty, and had no hake in it, as promised. But no complaints other than that. Lovely coffee. Recommended. And you can stroll to the Sunday Market from there and all the shops.

I love this restaurant! Their homemade cheese burger is the best in the city, and their brownies are to die for! Definately a cool place to hang out as all my friends go there too. The staff are excellent, really friendly. Plus they are open in the evenings on Friday and Saterday nights, as well as in the mornings on Sunday for that all important post-hangover fry up! Comfy couches and cool music - I love this restaurant!

I first went to this cafe in January while on a shopping trip. On first appearance I was impressed with its relaxed tempo-modern decor and this impressed feeling stayed for the entire visit. The staff were exceptionally well mannered and friendly while the service was prompt and flawless. The food is all homemade to order and while certain items on the menu may take a while to recieve it is well worth the wait for the fresh and flavoursome food you get. I was so impressed to find such a place where everything was up to scratch I continuously visit and also go there for their evening menu which is also flawless. Worth a visit if you are after a relaxing lunch or dinner.

Called in for a coffee and a scone. Scones were homemade and served with butter and jam, Couldn't fault the service - very friendly. Will definitely stop here again when in the city.

I was hoping to have a similar experience with Sumatra. Sumatra is a bit ragged around the edges. Staff friendly but useless, I waited for ages to pay the bill while someone behind the counter ignored me, the food is so-so... a bit disappointing overall... skip it.
