Must say I like the feel of this restaurant. Although I agree with previous reviewers saying the restaurant was cold- It was a cold night outside and the restaurant was a bit chilly, would have been nice to be sitting in a cosy restaurant on such a night. I had chowder to start which was excellent, the pork medley for main course which was ok, and choc mouse for desert which was also excellent! Came for the early bird menu, thought it was great value. Overall had a great night and would recommend.

I love this restaurant for its cosy atmosphere and very French feel as well as the great value food. The early bird menu is especially good value - 3 courses and a glass of wine for E20. The selection on this menu is not always very large but the quality of the food is great. In particulr I love the corn fed chicken main course and the chocolate desserts there are amazing.

three of us went early on a Friday (pre-gig). One had the special - leek and potato soup, with a hint of fennel and pernod, garlic croutons and a sort of tiny puff pastry bun, then confit duck and creme brulee, and a glass of wine for E20!), and two of us had the L&P soup, the cote de boeuf, and one creme brulee, one cheese course. They threw in a glass of port with the cheese, we also had two glasses of house red and a beer. E84!! The 20 euro early bird special had three options in each of three courses. The food is not totally brilliant, but very good and cooked very well, this is clearly a competent chef working to a price. Service was very pleasant too, not hard to see why they had 45 covers by 7.30. I'll be back, and more than once! Excellent, easy to see why they have a Bridgestone Top 100.

There were 3 of us. The menu is very varied and you have a huge choice. It has a strong French influence but it is not French cuisine. The food was good - One of us had a starter (goat cheese salad- it was ok). For main courses, we had the cassoulet (nice but not the real thing - wrong beans for example - but very tasty all the same), the lamb which was lovely and plentiful and the fish selection of the day which was lovely. The desserts were very nice. The coffee tasted like a boiled instant coffee - worst coffee ever had. The staff (only one waiter) was always at hand and friendly enough. We would be thinking twice about going back.

I had great expectations for this place but was really disappointed with my meal. Perhaps I made the wrong choices because the food at the other tables looked good. The tuna starter I got was completely tasteless. I ordered a seafood platter for main course which contained 3-4 morsels of fish that weighed about 2-3 ounces and the rest was a platter of vegetables. It cost €28! Normally a seafood platter is a plate of seafood - this was a plate of veg with a splash of seafood. I complained to the waiter and was then offered a free dessert after he consulted with the chef. I don't eat desserts so declined the offer. When presented with the bill to my amazement I was charged full price. I protested. After a further meeting with the mysterious chef a fiver was taken off the bill - It still cost me nearly €60 for 1 person. Will I go back? NEVER.

Very Disappointed! Booked at L'Atmosphere on the back of its good review on here. We were positioned near the door under a gaping hole in the roof. Every time the door opened we had to endure a freezing breeze. As a result our meal went cold in minutes. 6 times in 5 minutes I had to get up to close the door because of the cold. When we complained to the waiter, we were told that they were well aware of how cold it was and that we should talk to the owner- out comes the owner/chef. who refused to accept it was cold. even though other guests on separate tables agreed- The offer of a voucher which we declined was too little too late. Tom Doorley obviously visited on a good day- wont be back and wouldn't recommend.

I dropped into L'Atmosphere for an early bird dinner with a few friends after work expecting a simple, straight forward night with reasonable food and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and service. The small, rustic feeling dining area creates a cosy feeling and an intimate setting. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and the food is of the highest quality. The value for money was outstanding as well with a startet, main course and dessert with glass of wine all for just 20 euro. I'd highly recommend it to anyone.

We had a lovely meal this eve (Sunday). We went for the early bird (20euro). For starters: Goats cheese parcel w/salad was gorgeous. Soup of the day was very good. Mains: Fish pie was beautiful, chicken blanchette was good too. Deserts: Fabulous creme brulee, the profiteroles were the only thing that let the meal down - filled with a really sweet thick custardy type cream and smothered with chocolate icing - bit too heavy going for me. The (half size) glasses of wine included in the deal were totally drinkable. Overall a delicious meal with friendly service.

Classic bistro cooking with authentic feel. Friends & I had a lovely meal and a really, relaxed, enjoyable evening here. There are plenty of different options to choose from, as previously mentioned, the early bird is good value at €20, plus a glass of wine. The portions are on the small side, but then what would you expect for that price? A good option. My partner and I shared the set meal option for €65. This covers the majority of ala carte options, also three courses (good portion sizes), and a bottle of house wine. This is terrific value, is available all night, but not fri & sat. Also, there is a max of 4 people on any one table. Highlights of the meal were the bourgignon, classic bistro cooking at its simplest and best; the duck cassoulet and the pear creme brulee. Call me traditional, but I do like to know what I'm drinking. The house white is some kind of sauvignon, but when I asked what it was (as it's served in label-less bottles), I was told "its a sauvignon - its nice"! The list just says house wine, and for €22 a bottle, you'd like to know a little more. It was nice though...

The place and the atmosphere was good. The four of us had the same starter and main course. The mushrooms and poached egg was for a real mushroom fan. The meat in the beef bourguignon was very tender only a sightly salty which left me very thirsty later on. The helpings were small as two were big strong lads and could have ate more. The desserts and coffee were excellent.

Everything about this restaurant is simply gorgeous and authentic. A bit pricey but I ordered from the early bird menu when I was there which was fantastic value and not a bad selection either. I'm actually getting hungry thinking about the delicious boeuf bourguignon I had. It was perfect!

Opted for the early bird menu when we were visiting Waterford from Dublin for the new year. The early bird menu was a fabulous offer for €20 per head for 3 courses and a glass of wine each. We had the soup of the day and goat cheese as starters, beef bourguignon and fish of the day as mains, creme brulee and fruit salad as deserts. The food was excellent. Service was not what we had come to expect in Waterford but never the less, was acceptable. Well worth a visit if you are visiting Waterford.

Visited once while on a trip to Waterford and will definitely go back. My husband is French and we love food. This place was fantastic. Real non-pretentious, beautifully prepared food in bistro style surroundings. Service was not fast but excellent, and as we like time to sit over a meal it was perfect for us. 2 hours overall for starters, mains and deserts, and cost was €109 including a decent bottle of Lirac (recommended by waitress and rightly so) Would highly recommend to people who know true french cuisine and love it.

the food is excellent but could be more varied.its like they found a menu that works and they dont want to change it.service is arty and quirky but sometimes too stressed ,which can leave you feeling like youre in the way.
