This restaurant had only three or four people when I arrived. The service was prompt, and the staff were professional. The menu offered a large choice, and the beef was not great. I had two glasses of wine while eating the meal which was bland and unusual for a chinese restaurant had no flavour. The staff were courteous and pleasant. This is a restaurant I would not visit on my next trip to Waterford.

Had visited this restaurant many years ago whilst visiting Waterford, and am glad to report that it has lived up to the high standard that I remember. The menu had us spoiled for choice, but the Early Bird two-course meal was too tempting not to try. Mouth-watering, delicious and plentiful, it was washed down with a bottle of very nice red wine. Service was quick and courteous, and we were left to dine at our leisure. Two coffees rounded off the meal and for €55 it was excellent value. It's been a long time since we've had such good value on a night out.

This is a very nice restaurant in Waterford City. It wasn't too busy, only a few tables were occupied, so we didn't have to wait to be seated. Menu is quite extensive and the Early Bird menu gives diners three different prices from which to choose. We went for the two-course option for €17.50 which turned out to be an excellent choice. Make sure you're good and hungry when visiting the Jade Palace - portions are big, starter portions in particular. I had the Meat Soong starter and Special Curry for mains - both absolutely delicious. This restaurant has loads of character, staff are very friendly and service is prompt, couldn't ask for more. Would recommend the Jade Palace without hesitation.

the food here is great.portions sizes just right and its chinese without being too sickly. go here with my relatives in waterford regularly. the earlybird menu is great value. the staff are fantastic and cant do enough to help. the spare ribs followed by the duck cant be beaten. a well known waterford favourite for good reason

I went to Jade Palace with 3 others, the food was very enjoyable. Starters were a bit on the big size but main course was very nice chicken with chilli and garlic. We got the early bird which was very reasonable. However, I have to say the service was terrible, we only got our menu's and they asked were we ready to order, came back a less than a minute later and asked again, there was no real break between starter and main it was just so rushed. I was the last to finish the meal well if I could say finished because I was still eating the last mouthful of my dish when the table was cleared, even though I was going to taste some of my friends dish because she hadn't finished but I never got the chance. The waitress was very ignorant didn't bother to say excuse me when she leaned over me to get the plate and barely missed spoiling my top with the sauce on the plate only for a move back so quickly. I'd like to say again though that the food was very nice but I never eat there again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone either except for take-away.

Really good value early bird menu, also lots to choose from on this menu. Really recommed the house curry. Ate here on a Saturday night with a group of 5. The place was very busy but staff were very efficient and friendly. definitely worth a visit.

When I lived in Waterford this was my local Chinese, so needless to say I spent a lot of time here! The staff are so lovely and the food is very good. As another reviewer said it's a quiet reataurant but at least you're always guaranteed a table! Take-away is very good too.

Went to this place to treat my friend for helping me with something. We were the only people in there but it was early so understood why this was. It was a bit creepy as it was so big but we tried tohave a laugh & enjoy ourselves. The food was lovely & the staff were very friendly. Would go back again but would be nice if there were other customers there!

Can be a bit expensive. If you're watching the purse-strings (and the belt!) eat downstairs in the bar instead. Same food, a little cheaper, and a bar setting. If you prefer a proper sit-down-affair, upstairs is nice. The atmosphere can be a bit overly quiet when it's not full, but we are a boisterous crowd and made our own noise :-) Food is definitely good, and huge portions, like a lot of chinese restaurants. Lovely staff. Highly recommended overall.
