Went for an evening spin mid week and came across the Spinnaker. Had a little nosey in the door and decided to try it out. Really nice bar, food was great and great selection of seafood, staff were attentive and what a location. Will absolutely go back.

Went here two sundays in a row for lunch. Have eaten here before and has always been pleasant. Ate cod and chips both times and was delicious, the cod was very fresh, coated in a tasty light batter, nicest ive had. The chips were home made, and lovely tartare sauce also. On both occasions had fruit pavlova for desert. Delicious!

I have also previously had monkfish and scampi, both were very tasty.

The staff were attentive. It is family friendly and both my kids liked their food. My 7 yr old daughter had cod and chips which she loved.

They also offer free baby food of mashed potatoes mixed with soup, sounds odd but my 16 mth old ate it all!
Will definitely return here in future.

This was only my second time eating here, and like the first time, it was fabulous. I had the shredded crab starter, it was perfect, the right amount, and seasoned well. My main was their 3 fish special, cod, salmon, sea bass, this was tasty, a little too much butter sauce for my liking, but flavour-wise it was great,
my partner had (to my suprise the soup of the day tomato and basil, she doesn't normally eat tomatoes) but enjoyed it.
The steak main course was cooked perfectly, my own personal complaint was that they serve very very chunky chips with the mains, these are not to my liking at all and would loose marks for them. The next table embarked on a selection of sweets that looked divine,
but as we were full we decided to pass.
Staff were very busy when we arrived but were very efficient and nothing was too much trouble. The overall bill was very reasonable as we included our drinks on the bill. The decor in here is very interesting even if your not a fisherman, well worth a visit and make sure to eat. 5 star.

Possibly the best Chowder I've ever had!
Delicious! Almost a meal in itself...I said almost!...with a side of chunky homemade chips ... and top it all off with homemade banoffi pie!!
Well happy - and full!
Not giving the food away by any means but you certainly get what you pay for.
Excellent!
I'll be back.

if seafood is your thing, this place is lovely, especially the sea bass special. Some of the items are a bit pricey but for good seafood its worth it. Also dont be turned off by the look of the exterior outside, as at first, i didnt think much of it till i went inside.

We were a party of 4 that dined in the Spinnaker. I had an Austrailan cousin with me and wanted to take her to a bar/restaurant with great food and a good atmophere. Thankfully both were provided by well trained, friendly staff.
The Spinnker was fantastic. Portions were generous and well presented.
Service was friendly yet efficient as the place was really busy.
Overall top marks to the Spinnkaer.
We will all be back very soon...........

I always try to visit Dunmore East once a year and always head to the Spinnaker for dinner. We both started with the Chowder - TO DIE FOR!! very rich and full of mouthwatering fish bites... My partner had the fish and chips and the fish itself was massive, with a gorgeous light crispy batter. The catch of the day was gone so I had the surf and turf, absolutely lovely with crab claws! We were so stuffed, we didn't have room for dessert. I agree that it can be a bit pricey (around €29.90 for surf and turf) but the food is top class, the freshest!! It's nice for a treat. The pub/restaurant is very relaxed and clean, the staff are young but friendly and efficient. Well worth a visit, one of the best restaurants (if not the best!)in Dunmore East!

Love this place! I’ve eaten here a number of times over the last 2 years and I have to say that as a veggie it’s nice to get offered something more than just mixed veg and lentils! My favourite being the roast veg pasta bake but I’m always torn when I go there cause the goats cheese tartlet is lovely too. If you love home cooked food for veggies it’s the only option in Dunmore! It has a really relaxed atmosphere and the staff go out of their way to be helpful.

Nice place, but my criticism of the Spinnaker is the same as my criticism of the entire resort of Dunmore East, WAY TOO EXPENSIVE! I love Dunmore East and will return there for the third year in a row, but a vegetarian pasta bake in a pub for 16 euro, get with the programme lads, and yeah, if you could do something but pasta for vegetarians and really I think there should be a cap of 10 euro on vegetarian main courses.

Lamb Cutlets with Garlic, Lemon and Paprika

Why not make up a large quantity of this marinade in advance – it is wonderful with cutlets and would also work well with leg steaks or loin chops. The longer you marinate the meat for, the better the flavour!
