I visit Dunmore about 4 times a year as I have family down there. Locals dont really eat in Azzuro so I'd only been there once. I decided it was time to give it another go and unfortunately I won't be rushing back. Such a shame because the location and décor are beautiful but there is no value for money. They seem to be cutting corners with their ingredients to save money. Also, in my opinion, the menu is too long & muddled. They should stick to the Italian/Mediterranean theme instead of throwing asian influences around where they don't go. My pasta should've had chilis in it. Instead they used chili oil which killed the flavour of the seafood completely - and i love spicy food. This left my lips numb. I NEVER leave a whole plate of food especially at these prices but i could barely manage a third. I ordered a side of green beans but they were rubbery and i think they were microwaved as they tasted of plastic. These too were left. When asked I said the food was fine but i complimented what I did like. I think my opinion is down to personal taste that i didn't like the food. I love authentic italian dishes and this was not authentic but it may suit some people. They need to think long and hard about how to improve their menu and ingredients because i want to love this place :(

Stopped by Azzurro for lunch during the Tall Ships. Its a beautiful restaurant with a lovely setting just above Dunmore strand. The seafood came highly recommeded and we were impressed with the service and quality of the food. Overall a lovely dining experience.

Ate here Sunday afternoon during Dunmore East's Fish, Food & Fun festival. There was a special menu that I suppose might be called a tasting menu for €27.50 per person which allowed each person to pick 2 starters, 2 mains, 1 side, 1 dessert and tea/coffee, good value as the portion sizes were generous. We had buchetta, rocket salad, marinated olives & bean salad for starters, mains were hake x 2, aubergine bake & chirozo sausage, sides were garlic & rosemary roast potatoes & salad, dessert was profiteroles & choc brownies all of which were delicious mediterranean dishes, in my opinon, and eating outside in the sunshine only added to the enjoyment. The staff were efficient, friendly and nothing was too much trouble even though there were extremely busy. Overall I've been here before and will be back again.

Spanish cuisine masked by italian names. Being italian, I can not approve this choice: it is bad to realize that the "risotto" is not italian "risotto" but only boiled rice. It is unfair for them to pretend to be italian when they aren't. Don't make the same mistake. Anyway the service is on the average and the food is passable but under expectation

was in dunmore last night and decided to check out azzurro. i think this place could do with a lick of paint and a bit of updateing.the staff here are really nice and pleasant and cheerfull. the atmosphere would have been better with some back ground music but all i could hear was the banging of pots and pans in the kitchen. we found the food to be just average and nothing to get excited about for the prices they charge are not cheap.left here feeling disapointed dont think we will be back here again.

Good value with good service. We brought the family for an early dinner and ate from the value dinner menu (5-7pm). The menu is a set 3 courses plus coffee for €24.50, which seems a little over the average price for early bird fayre, but the quality of the food means the value is there. Herself started with fishcakes, which she lapped up, while I opted for a simple tomato & buffallo mozzerella salad, which was as good as any i've ever had ( quality tomatoes & a really good balsamic reduction ). We both had the Cod for mains, which was very generous in portion size, and seved with deliciously garlicy crushed potatoes. To finish, she had profiteroles & I had a very rich but surprisingly light chocolate brownie, served with a delicious warm custard. Yum! The kids were very happy with a better than average pasta dish, and there were other families around, which took off the pressure! Friendly and efficient service and very nice atmosphere all meant a very enjoyable couple of hours. Will be back!

Myself and my Sister ate here one night during our recent break to Dunmore East. Lovely restaurant with great atmosphere and very modern/nautical feel to it. Calimari to start, very nice... I had the chicken, delicious and my Sister decided to go for the Lobster which was the 'catch of the day'. She was very impressed with it and I even tried some, very tender and tasteful. We couldn't fit dessert in so had two sambuca's at the lovely little bar area. Lovely ambience to the whole restaurant, bit on the pricey side but then again, it's Dunmore East.

A lovely new restaurant in Dunmore East. We went here a few times on our holidays last year and I suspect shall be returning a few times this year. The atmosphere is lovely, its housed where the old ship used to be in a lovely atmospheric setting on corner of the road as the road follows down from the beach towards the town. Pizzas and pasta were delicious and a great choice of wine, but as in everywhere in Dunmore East, too expensive for casual dining.

We visited Azurro on a Sunday at 1pm, during the Bluegrass Festival. Equipped with our two children, a 6yr, and a 2yr, we headed there for a light bite to eat. I decided on two small kids pizzas, my husband wanted a 'all day fancy breakfast', and i wanted some sort of open sandwich. When it came to order (which was a bit of a wait), the waitress informed us that the chef was only doing pizza's. So we ordered pizza's, with a side of french fries. The waitress returned, and said she couldn't give us the chips as the chef had just left. It was 1pm!!! She obviously really did mean only pizza's. Pizza's eventually came, she got the order wrong and gave the kids two full size pizza's. She apologised and said we wouldnt' be charged. The fries arrived also, much to our surpise. Food was grand, a nice proper homemade pizza base, thin, slightly crispy, good measure of toppings. Had to wait again for the bill, so i took charge and went up to the till to pay. It was only then apparent how disorganised the restaurant was, with staff at the bar, confused with what order goes where, and some big drama about a cafe latte. I'd only go there if really stuck, and if your belly is screaming for food (pizza only:-)

We ate an outdoors late lunch on Sunday in this restaurant. The staff were friendly, attentive and relaxed. Probably the best staff we came across in this relaxed yet efficient restaurant in the Dunmore east area. Carrot soup with fresh coriander was for starters which was delicious and it was accompanied by crusty white bread infused with black pepper. For mains, two of us chose a feta salad, the feta was surprisingly tasteless and left us hungry. The pasta dish with Bolognese sauce was comforting, familiar and a good choice. For dessert flour-less chocolate cake and homemade ice-cream were eaten quickly and with no complaints. We also had glasses of red and white wine and coffees. We paid €90 for the three of us.
