Good quality pub grub with a pleasant atmosphere. Friendly staff. Great selection of dishes, have came across some inventive fish dishes. Reasonable pricing as well. Definitely worth a try.

Lovely warm restaurant with really pleasant and obliging staff. The food here was superb and there was tons of it. We definitely wouldn't ever have been able to finish what we got, and we have good appetites. Food was cooked to perfection. Really tasty. It was an early bird and fantastic value for money. We would definitely come here again and recommend it to anyone.

Excellent value for money at Mulcahys. The food is absolutely delicious and a wide variety of dishes are offered/ The atmosphere is lovely in the literally huge building. Staff tend always to be friendly and helpful.

went to Clonmel shopping on Saturday and went to Mulchays for lunch - have been before and was impressed and was equally impressed this time - it was a carvery lunch with great choices and loads of staff to make sure they get through the large crowd waiting - my daughter aged 8 was impressed with her dinner and i had the roast beef and it was lovely, my mam had the turkey and couldnt finish it with the amount of meat she got - it was €18 for me, my daughter, a baby bowl for my small fella, my dinner and a glass of milk - very helpful and friendly staff - only downside is having to trek up the stairs to the baby changing room - we will be back..

Visisted here for the weekend and was very disappointed. Booked for the A la carte in the early evening. The service was very fast (maybe a bit too fast to have prepared the food properly!) The portions were very large but the quality of the food was terrible. The two steaks that were ordered tasted disgusting- the fillet unedible! the onions and mushrooms accompanying these were also horrible. The chicken tandoori was alright. The staff were very nice. However, it seemed that one thing after the next went wrong. We will not be returning.

I dine here often and return for the service, food and atmosphere...especially on a Sunday, great Family Friendly atmosphere. The staff go a long way towards making this an enjoyable dining experience - always attentative, friendly and on their game. I like it!

Have been here lots & lots of times over the years & have always enjoyed my lunch in there even though it would be busy. Lunch is always reasonable at approx €10 for a main course & a mineral. Also, have been to the main restaurant at night about 8 times & the food was lovely 7 of those 8 times. The only time I did not enjoy it was because I was given the wrong meal. They took it back & replaced it but it took time & I was hungry & my friend had to eat theirs or it would be cold. Really nice food though. The owners are notoriously not nice & the staff are not too pleasant either but if you overlook that, you will enjoy your meal. Great atmospere in the pub at the weekends.

Had a nice lunch there [roast beef], plenty of staff keeping tables clean etc. Would call again if passing through Clonmel.

Ate there last Monday and all four of us were very disappointed. My parents had the Lamb which was tasteless. My wife had the Hake which was deep fried and burnt. And I had the Chicken breast with black pudding in a creamy Irish Whiskey sauce. I had 2 small (1cm by 1cm) pieces of chicken. 4 or 5 similar sized pieces of black pudding. The lack of meat was attempted to be made up for by lots of overly cooked veg in the mix. As for the creamy Irish whiskey sauce. Well milk would be a more accurate description. Next time if I'm hungry and tempted to go there I'll flip a coin between it and the fast food outlet directly across the road. I couldn't care less which won as the food standard is about the same. At €11 per main course it would have to be cheaper and therefore be better value. All that said it is hugely popular and always busy on Sundays. I think it is that a lot of people like plain tasteless food and unfortunately that is what they get. Crowd pleasing but plain.

Nice simple food. The service is good and the staff are friendly..the atmosphere is relaxed and its very easy to stay on for a few to many drinks after your meal.
