A group of about 22 of us ate here the night after my wedding and it was absolutely delicious. Even though we were a large group the set menu that were given was still very varied, and very well priced. Its just really nice good hearty irish/european cooking, with a hint of fine dining in the taste and presentation. Not one person was unhappy with their food, the bacon and cabbage being a highlight. And the bread served is delicious. I understand that we were a wedding party from the night before so the staff were of course going to be very good and nice to us and the atmosphere was going to be lovely, but I know that its always like that regardless of whether its a post wedding party or not as my Mum eats here quite regularly and has said that the staff are great. The wine selection is a little pricey for the quality and selection but otherwise I can't complain!

one of my favourite restaurants! it is alway a please to eat here - the ambiance is fabulous, and the food is always great. service is formal but very friendly & relaxed, there is nothing stuffy about this restaurant, it is just perfect.

There is something special about the Palace - the food is good and the service impeccable. We recently enjoyed a meal there with an excellent starter, and very tasty dessert each and the house red very easy to drinlk - our beef left a bit to be desired but overall an enjoyable experience.

I stayed at the Cashel Palace recently and was quite impressed I must say. There was a very pleasant, calm atmosphere in ths country house hotel throughout the whole weekend. My partner and I ate in The Buttery Restaurant in the basement area of the hotel. The food was superb. Giada De Laurentiis would be much impressed!!! The staff were quite efficient but when managed by the more than capable GM, it is evident why. There is one negative which I must include and this is the accomodation, which was a bit pricy. Overall, I enjoyed my stay immensely.

The palace hotel also has a pub offering a pub menu, if you go downstairs, in the bar section. That is were I had dinner. It was quite nice & the food was tasty but our main, sirloin steak with relish tomatoes, mushrooms & cashel blue cheese arrived without tomatoes, mushrooms & cheese! So we were quite annoyed with this, especially as the waiter didn't seem to care much about it. He was however very helpful at the end & gave us a discounted price on the final bill to compensate for the fact our dish was incomplete. What was on the plate was nice though: the chowder didn't have much seafood/fish bits in it but was very creamy & the brown bread & walnuts served with it was very tasty. The Sirloin steak was very tender, it is just a shame we were missing this blue cheese to go with it...

Lamb Cutlets with Garlic, Lemon and Paprika

Why not make up a large quantity of this marinade in advance – it is wonderful with cutlets and would also work well with leg steaks or loin chops. The longer you marinate the meat for, the better the flavour!
