Having heard a great deal about the fantastic food and atmosphere at this venue we decided that as we had a special occasion to celebrate, we would give it a go. Filled with high hopes, we were greeted warmly upon arrival and shown to a tiny table in the corner with my fiance sitting at a right angle to myself. There was a lot of noise in this very crowded space and we quickly realised this was not going to be a quiet intimate meal. Our order was taken and after about 15 minutes our starters arrived. My fiance had the carrot broth and I had the quail. Both enjoyable, if a little uninspiring. When the waitress came to take our plates, she seemed to be a little offended that I had left some meat on the quail and huffily asked if everything had been alright. I said it was lovely and she just walked away. It was as if we became invisible after that! We waited for over forty minutes for our main, despite the tables on both sides of us receiving their mains. My fiance spent the best part of 15 minutes trying to catch our waiter's eye, who seemed to be carefully ignoring the fact that we had nothing to eat. When we eventually grabbed his attention, my fiance asked to see the manager. He then asked us was everything alright, to which we replied that we would like to see the manager. The manager then came over and merely asked "what's wrong?", and my fiance asked could we please have our main courses. The manager said he would "look into it" and strode away, no apology. The food was with us 2 or 3 minutes later, served up with what seemed to be a sarcastic comment from our waiter who muttered something under his breath about us having "keen eyes". I might add that at this point no one had checked our drinks or our water but we were so happy just to have our main course, we gave up on drinks. Some minutes later, he began wiping tables beside where people were still eating beside us and brushing crumbs from their tables onto our table where we were still eating.
