The Donkey Shed RestaurantPosted on 20 October 2012
What can I say to sum up this place??
You have to try the Mexican burger!!!!!
We visit regularly & at this stage the staff know what we are going to order.
The food is fantastic. The atmosphere is fantastic. Even when it is busting at the seams it's still enjoyable to sit & chomp on your food.
Summer time is perfect to sit outside & enjoy a fresh salad.
After you have eaten you can take a stroll around & pet some goats.
The staff are so nice. It's nice to go to a local "joint" and be acknowledged as a regular.
Hats off to the owners!!
This place is a true gem!

KitchenPosted on 20 October 2012
Visited here with a menupages deal with a friend. The atmosphere is really cosy. The menu is very mixed definitely something for everyone. I loved that the coeliac options were outlined on the menu & what I loved even more was that the bangers & mash was coeliac friendly.. WINNER!! It was so scrumptious. The colcannon had such a unique twist to it with black pudding mashed through. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Washed down with a bottle of the house red which was perfect.
Finished off with the most devine panacotta.
The staff were very friendly & knowledgable regarding the menu & topped up our wine when they passed by which was a nice touch.
We will definitely be back. If the sausages weren't gluten free I would have had the monkfish curry so I'll have to come back to try that :-)

Wrights Anglers RestPosted on 15 June 2012
We booked a table for 5 for a wedding anniversary dinner.
From start to finish everything was divine.
We all enjoyed every morsel of food.
I am gluten intolerant & they had a multitude of gluten free options including tasty desserts.
I had the rack of lamb which was cooked perfectly. Father in law had the pork belly which was also perfect in flavour with a tasty mustard mash potato.
The only let down was that there was no live music the specific night that we went but we will definitely go back again as there is so much more on the menu that I would like to try :-)
Great staff, great food, really authentic atmosphere.
A perfect evening

Castello BrunoPosted on 15 June 2012
Spoke too soon in my last review..
Decided to treat ourselves to breakfast last week. We actually went on the Friday 08/06 and I ordered the eggs benedict (decided the gluten intolerance symptoms would be worth it). Have to say best eggs benedict I have ever tasted so delicious.
The food was so good we went back the very next day for breakfast... Now just a side note these breakfasts aren't by any means cheap. The first day knocked us back €26 and the Saturday approx the same.
Firstly we were seated & we had a look at the menu & quickly closed our menu as we were starving & knew what we wanted. A couple walked in & sat down at this point & to our amazement were served before us??? And consequently got their food before us.
I ordered the same eggs benedict but to my demise there was little to no hollandaise sauce & the eggs were on a cut out PIECE OF BREAD approx 3cm in diameter. Yes you read correctly. The first morning my eggs benedict came on delicious American muffins which would be expected as it is considered a "chef special" & at €8 a pop I'm wondering what I actually paid for. The flavour was ruined for me & I was entirely disappointed. I pointed out my disappointment to the waitress who spoke to the chef & returned & said she is not sure why the food was sent out like that & it was a mistake. (me thinks it was moreso a case of .. Ah silly Irish eegits don't know what eggs benedict are & they'll eat anything).
Well I have to say after many visits to Castello Bruno for lunches & dinners we shall not be returning here.

Maximilians BistroPosted on 11 April 2012
Visited here for a local dinner for hubbies birthday.
Firstly the restaurant is SO busy. It's virtually impossible to relax & enjoy the ambience & chat. The kitchen is at the door which means the servers were rushing past us all night. We were in a stupidly placed table near the toilets in the centre of 4 seater tables. This was horrible as it wasn't intimate so felt like we were on show.
Anyway just a word of warning if you are looking for somewhere for a quiet relaxed evening this isn't thr restaurant.
In terms of food we couldn't really fault it. We both had the fillet steak (not the best tasting meat but it was good) the ratatouille was practically non existent though which was disappointing.
We quickly left after our main course as the atmosphere just didn't appeal to us.
Probably won't go again although may try it on a less busy night.

NandosPosted on 09 March 2012
Went to Nandos for lunch. My first ever visit to the establishment so I had very high hopes.
Firstly asked the server of their gluten free options & she was unable to tell me. She referred me to a large folder & I was to research it myself. The folder informed me of the gluten free options but there was a * beside each one saying make sure to ask your server.... Hmmmmm slight conundrum as the server didn't even know what was gluten free.
Anyway I chose peri peri chicken-plain, which was very delicious (I figured if she didn't know what was gluten free she wouldn't know if the sauces were aswell), corn on the cob which was delicious & the spicy rice which I have to say wasn't nice at all. It tasted like that horrible "quick cook" rice that you boil in a bag with some horrible processed flavour.
Seriously Nandos rice is probably the cheapest thing on offer & you are serving this?? Plus it's a TEENY TINY portion.
Come on... Sort out the rice please
Overall I would go back. The chicken was GREAT
(oh and I didn't have any gluten issues after so overall a great experience)

TGI Friday (Blanchardstown)Posted on 29 February 2012
2nd time I have ordered steak & asked for medium & it has come out shrivelled up & overdone. Staff were nice about it but had to wait a good 20mins for a new steak to arrive and by that time my husband was finished his food. Will never ever go back to TGIs. Absolute rip off of a restaurant with less than mediocre food & we had to stand and wait for half an hour for a table even though the restaurant was half empty??
