China Sichuan

China Sichuan

Posted on 27 March 2009
I'll start off by saying that I am not generally a fan of Chinese food having had some bad experiences. But my lunchtime meal at China Sichuan has converted me! 3 of us went for the Set Menu (fantastic value at 2 courses for €15). For my starter I had Poached Dumplings in Red Chili Sauce which was unbelievably tasty. The others had Chicken & Sweetcorn soup which was good also. For my main course I had the Chicken with Cashew Nuts which was delicious. I also tasted the Rib Eye Beef in Peppercorn Sauce which was great. We also had deserts which were not the standard bought-in but a good mixture of unusual desers were on offer and the three of us were pleased with our choices. A bottle of wine and 3 coffees, the bill came to €107 which we all agreed was good value. Atmosphere is a bit lacking but it was luch time. Staff all very friendly. I'll be a regular from now on!

Lamb Cutlets with Garlic, Lemon and Paprika

Why not make up a large quantity of this marinade in advance – it is wonderful with cutlets and would also work well with leg steaks or loin chops. The longer you marinate the meat for, the better the flavour!
