Nautilus Restaurant (Formerly Ciao)Posted on 17 August 2010
are you boys pushing for a star?! on the recommendation of two of my fellow workers myself and my gf went along to ciao last night..we were in time for the early bird, which has plenty of options and very reasonably priced, but went for a la carte instead..i started with the crab platter, and gf had pork belly and prawn.. excellent presentation, and a hell of a lot of work gone into each dish..next i had the seabass and gf had duck breast special, again excellent presentation, lovely little fondant potatoes on the bass plate with a coriander puree, very fresh tastes, the crab springroll wasnt to heavily curried, and the tomato chutney brought it all together nicely..had the choc mousse and gf the berries with small doughnuts, maybe a couple of more doughnuts but again, excellent. if i were to rate the meal, i would put starter as best, dessert as second best and main as third..the veg on the side didnt really add to the meal, but i reckon thats there to keep a certain amount of clientel happy to have veg..my only quibble is a touch more seasoning, but thats an extremely minor thing, i am a chef by trade and was knocked out by the standard of food, and the service was very friendly, quick and professional. keep it up, youve added two more regulars to your restaurant!

McHugh’s Wine & Dine RestaurantPosted on 15 August 2010
my third time here, and as lovely as ever..i ate here when it just opened and it still has kept its charm and standards.. i had the rabbit followed by the rump of lamb, while the gf had the grilled goats cheese and the duck breast..fantastic, lamb was so tender and tasty, the mash is to die for! we shared a brownie, and had a bottle of tussock, overall still great value and service was very efficient..its off the beaten track if you dont know where it is but i live local so no problems for me!

FXB MonkstownPosted on 13 June 2010
went here with my girlfriend, love the bar, its pictures and the actual bar itself is fantastic.. the food isnt great, had the chowder to start, the only fish i could recognise was salmon, which seemed to have been cooked separately, and very small pieces of white fish, which i couldnt tell was..gf had lamb shank with mash..the mash had no life in it, mircrowaved perhaps? not sure, the lamb was very underseasoned.. wouldnt have minded too much but the meal was very expensive for what it was..i had medallions of beef which were good..didnt have dessert, a manager passed us by as we were leaving but declined to say thanks, good bye or good luck! i hate that, ive just spent money in the establishment..won't again though.

Mulino'sPosted on 13 September 2009
my third time here, cant put my finger on it, its lacking something, or, a lot of things..food is quite good, plain enough, but where it falls down is the service, its like your in their way, i feel almost like i have to apologise for being there! no smiles or energy from waiting staff, it costs nothing and has such an affect on the customer that will bring them back..not sure i will though..

Eatery 120Posted on 28 January 2008
I ate here last Thursday night, and as I am a regular wanted something a bit different. I had the special of mussels and organic salmon, lovely dishes. I usually go for the 12oz rib eye but am glad I tried something different, will be returning soon!
