Its only open, but I think it will be a regular for me. Real comfort food, the restaurant has a really nice atmosphere, but for my first visit I would definitely recommend Dilingers, Good food and not overpriced.

L’Ecrivan is a beautiful restaurant of genuine charm, warmth and superb service. The menu is well-considered - both at lunch and dinner. A lovely place to meet friends or have a romantic dinner. They know how to deliver consistently.

I originally went with some friends who live in Rathgar about two years ago, they had been raving about this place, they could not have been more right. It is so charming. Since my first visit, I travel from outside the area, just to go there. Although the place gets really busy, this creates a brilliant atmosphere. The staff could not be more accommodating and friendly. And most importantly the food is very tasty. It is definitely consistent each time. Even the staple items like Shank of Lamb and Rib Eye Steak are delicious (that’s what we had on our last visit). Nice wine selection by the glass and half carafe. I could go on and on..... but I won't. And in this economy, it really is great value for the money!

I have been for brunch several times and every time has been consistently good food and service. Just did dinner and it was great too, though the service was a little slow. Chicken Wings mmmmm…..Will definitely be back.

Love it, Rolys Ballsbridge always seems to be bustling with an older (but not old) and very respectable looking crowd who seem to be enjoying themselves. Delicious classic well cooked dishes. A firm favourite of mine. I recently discovered that this is a great place for brunch in their new cafe. Definitely wont let you down.
