Bay Restaurant

Bay Restaurant

Posted on 09 August 2010
Came here for sunday brunch. Atmosphere was good, but staff were not particularly nice. We had pancakes, eggs benedict and a full breakfast. The pancakes were 50/50 half were good and the other half were hard and nasty - maybe left sitting under hot lamps? The full breakfast was ok but no real flavor, the eggs were overcooked bullets and the hollandaise on the eggs benedict had a hard skin on top which was offputting! with teas coffees and waters the bill came to nearly €100.00 for 3 of us!!! very expensive for what you get - wont be back!!!!!!

This restaurant is a waste of money. We went back here after a long break and the restaurant is not clean, it is not good value and it has terrible food. It felt like the server didnt want to be there and it took ages to place an order. Our bill was 80.00 for 2 of us - not a recession buster at all. I had a steak, which should have been simple but it was over cooked and oily and tasted like dog food. When i pointed this out to the server it was argued that i had asked for medium well and that was how they cooked medium well. I didn't argue further as I never complain (I know I should have) It was not taken back or off the bill. We had house white wine but it tasted corked and maybe was from a bottle left open for a week or more. My husband had pasta which was very stodgy and chicken wings which were hard and tasteless (maybe microwaved) Frozen chips completed the meal. Toilets had no loo roll and were smelly. We will never go back here.
