Baan Thai (Leopardstown)Posted on 14 June 2007
I went here with 2 friends and we had a nice relaxing meal. I love Thai food and had heard about this place so was dying to try the food but I have to say I wasn't overly impressed. I got the vegetable tempura to start, which was ok. It was a bit greasy. It was a huge serving and even though all 3 of us got one each, 1 or 2 would have done us. For mains I ordered chicken Thai vegetable, which was, ok it was very bland and I didn't get any real flavours off it. I would like to give it a second chance though because I may just have chosen the wrong dishes. The staff were very well presented in traditional Thai uniforms but they weren't very friendly. I think it was quite expensive too. I also don't like the way you're charged separately for rice or noodles; I think these should be included in the price of the main courses as they are quite expensive.

I would call this more a fast food joint...or if I’m being totally honest.... slow food joint! It’s ok if you're out shopping and need a quick break and some food but it's not a place to go for a nice romantic meal with a loved one! I can't make my mind up about the staff.... either they give you the menu and give you about a minute and then ask for your order or they do the complete opposite and wait about 20-30 minutes before asking for your order. The food is ok. It's not the cleanest place to eat either.

Luigi Malones RestaurantPosted on 05 April 2007
Four of us visited this restaurant on Paddy’s Day. It was very busy (we were right to book a table!). The menu is great because there is so much to choose from. The portion sizes are huge...nearly too big and the food is gorgeous but a little on the expensive side. The staff are pleasant and friendly. There is a great atmosphere especially if you are eating here before a night out.... they have gorgeous cocktails too!

The Rockfield LoungePosted on 17 March 2007
I've been here a few times. It’s basically pub grub but it is very good.... huge portions and good value! The fajitas are gorgeous. The staff are friendly. The only thing I don't like is that when you are entering the pub you are met by the smokers crowded into the reception area. It’s tiny and it stinks of smoke.

Four of us visited here on a Sunday night. The food was nice and we got a gorgeous bottle of red wine. The service was ok.... one of us got the mushroom sauce instead of the peppered sauce that had been ordered, they forgot to bring one of our desserts but apart from that it was ok. There wasn't much of an atmosphere though. We had to wait a long time for our starters to arrive but when they did they were very very good. I didn't like that 5% service charge was added to the bill.... I don't think any restaurant has the right to do this as it's up to the customer to give a tip if they feel they have been looked after properly.

Greens RestaurantPosted on 20 January 2007
We recently visited here for my mothers 50th birthday. We had a party of 14. The food was very good but the staff were rude and very moody! It was like they hated being there and couldn't wait to finish their shift. It may be ok with a smaller party but I wouldn't recommend it if you are visiting with a large party.
