Blue Orchid Blackrock

Blue Orchid Blackrock

Posted on 15 May 2012
When my three friends and I entered, we were immediately given a warm greeting by the staff. Prawn crackers were immediately served, with three selections of exotic dipping sauces to choose from. They were very spicy, addictive and absolutely delicious. For the starter, we chose the Blue Orchid Platter. Though the menu states that it serves two, the description - “An assortment of four appetisers - chicken satay, spare ribs, spring rolls and chicken wings” sounded substantial enough. Which it was. The cheesecake was served with slices of various fruits, and consisted of a very fruity mousse sitting on a lovely moist biscuit base. With every bite one could taste the passion fruit. The consensus: bliss. The coconut sorbet was very similar to coconut ice-cream and received an identical reaction. I chose a Bailey’s coffee to finish off the meal, while two of my friends chose cappuccinos. The serving of Bailey’s in the coffee was extremely generous. The
