I booked Ely, for Saturday evening @ 6.30.
havent eaten in Ely before and they had got my booking because they do an early bird.
We were shown in the room downstairs which is really nice, great atmosphere and very warm and inviting. We had different salads to start which were really nice, lots of little flavours going on and very well presented. for main I had the steak, medium rare, cooked as ordered which was topped with a very full flavoured garlic butter. Couldnt have faulted it, lovely. Great value, lovely place and good service. Left very happy.

had lunch here before was not not too impressed with the food. Thought i'd give it another go as it is very popular. Went for dinner at 7pm. Very busy, good atmosphere and great room. Menu reads very well but sadly does not translate on the plate. smoke fish starter was very average and did not warrant mentioning the smoke house and the owners of same on the menu. likewise my duck main had no flavour and again was just not up to the standard required at this level. Very very disappointing and incredibly bad value.
