Salamanca

Salamanca

I visited this restaurant for the first time recently with a friend. We decided to try and get a table without a reservation not really expecting to be accomodated because the restuarant was so busy. The girl we spoke to told us to come back in twenty minutes and she would have a table which was a nice surprise. When we arrived back it was still really busy so much so that there were a number of people waiting on tables and it was another 20 minutes before we actually got seated, although this is obviously a sign that it is a very popular restaurant. We had two dishes each , I had prawns and chorizo and a goats cheese, aubergine dish. I really enjoyed the prawns, The goats cheese dish was ok, a little soggy in my opinion. The portion sizes seem a little larger than I would be used to with tapas and that is reflective in the price per dish. The service was fine, as I said the restuarant was extrememly busy but we werent left waiting to order or to pay the bill. All in all it was quite enjoyable, a liovely atmosphere and Im sure I will return in the future.

The Dining Room

The Dining Room

I visited The Dining Room with my partner for his birthday. We had been looking forward to it and werent disappointed! I had a goats cheese salad to start while my patrner had scallops with a cauliflower puree, both were lovely and set the tone for the rest of the meal. We both had fillet steaks for mains which were delicous and cooked perfectly. I would usually have dessert but I had enjoyed the meal so much I decided to make an exception. I ordered the cheescake and that didnt disappoint either. The service was good, staff werent overly attentive so you could ennjoy your meal but at the same time you werent left waiting if you needed anything. There was a nice atmosphere in the restaurant as it was coming up to christmas and it was quite busy. All in all i really enjoyed the food and for that reason would definitley return.

I wasnt a huge fan of tapas; that was before I tried this restaurant!! I absolutley love the food and visit regularly both with friends and also my partner and everyone who visits with me really enjoy it and want to come back. The menu offers great variety and really good value for money. I especially enjoy the salads and prawn dishes. On all of the occasions I have visited, the restaurant is extremely busy and its not unusual for people to queue for tables. The decor is lovely especially downstairs with its exposed stone walls and little t light candles everywhere. If I were to critise anything, its the fact the restuarant dont take bookings which means you can arrive and be told that either you have to wait for 40 mins or that they cant fit you in at all. Also the restaurant itself is quite small which does add to the charm but also means tables are very close together. The service can be very slow at times as well mainly because they are always really busy but perhaps they need more staff. All in all I love this restaurant and will definitely be back!

I have been to this restuarant a couple of times now, mainly for lunch as it has a good lunch deal which is two courses for 12.95. The food itself is good value as the portion sizes are substantial and the service is prompt. The lunch menu offers a good variety of dishes. I have enjoyed thai green curry, duck, chicken with black bean, all of which were enjoyable. The waiting staff are all very polite and attentive. The atmosphere is fairly quiet at lunch time which is to be expected but they have live music and entertainment during the evenings/weekends. Overall the restaurant offers good food for a reasonable price, it isnt the greatest asian cuisine youll ever try but is good value for those on a budget.

I had heard about this restaurant from some work colleagues and had wanted to try it ever since. I went with my fiance on a friday evening. We hadnt booked but managed to get a table without any hassle. The restaurant itself wasnt overly busy at the time we arrived but soon after almost every table was filled. We availed of the early bird menu which offered 3 courses for €30. The waiting staff were friendly and attentive and the food was served promptly. To start I had paté (fine but nothing extraordinary - probably wouldnt order it again) while my fiancé had prawns which he really enjoyed. For the main course we both had fillet steak and ate every bite - very enjoyable. I will def return for the steak alone! For dessert we shared a pannacotta. I am not really a huge dessert fan but my fiance enjoyed it. Overall I would definitley return for the friendly service, warm atmosphere and delicious fillet steak! The one small drawback was that the tables were a little cramped and didnt leave a whole lot of room between one table and the next but overall a lovely meal and good value.
