Taste of BrazilPosted on 23 April 2012
Short Version:
This restaurant rates as the second worst place I've been in Dublin!
I would not recommend it to anyone for the following reasons:
1- Horrible atmosphere:
2- Service: we ordered 4 dishes: 2 weren't available (+1 more we've been told before we chose it), and 1 order was misplaced. The service was so quick that we were given the mains half way through the starters.
3- Food: I understand that cheese makes food taste good but there is a limit (the risotto was basically a ball of cheese and rice). The steak was as though as a shoe sole (no kidding). Grated cheddar is not Feta!
Long Version:
My girlfriend and I got a voucher on Livingsocial and came here on a quiet Sunday afternoon (~6.00pm) while the restaurant was almost empty.
The atmosphere it's very cold and unwelcoming.
Once seated I mentioned the voucher and I was told straight away that the fillet steak wasn't available, which I found odd but nonetheless acceptable.
As part of the offer we could get 2 starters and 2 mains.
For starters we got an avocado&feta salad and bolinho de mandioca.
When we ordered the mains (one was the prawns and coconut soup), we were told that that that wasn't available either so we settled for a Picanha and a Risotto.
After a couple of minutes the waitress came back saying that the bolinhos were not available, so I chose a been soup.
I have to say that service was quick, but instead of the avocado&feta salad they brought a plain salad, so we asked to take it back, and when the new salad came it had grated cheddar (or old mozzarella?) instead of feta. At this stage we didn't bother to ask about the feta because it was probably not available...
Half way through the salad, we got the mains (again very quick service...).
My steak looked very good, and it also tasted OK, but the meat was very though and half way through the steak I gave up.

One of my favorite restaurant in Dublin.
I used to live in the area and used to came here at least twice a month.
They run a 10.50 Sunday buffet offer where you can get a starter a main and rice or naan.
The portions are generous and the food quality is very good.
The place is usually very quite and allows for a nice and relaxed meal.
I definitely recommend this restaurant specially on a Sunday trip to Blachardstown shopping center (it's 10 minutes away from it).

I found the restaurant through a GroupOn offer so I went for dinner on a Friday night with my girlfriend. I have to say I would not be happy if I had to pay full price for it. The atmosphere is very cold and impersonal (specially the lights), and the waiter that took our order was distracted and took the order wrong. That said the wrong items where replaced. Food quality was average specially for the mains: my girlfriend had Jinga Masala which contained 3 prawns and I had Chicken Bangol. Both dishes came in a red thick sauce which tasted exactly the same with my dish being a little less spicy than the other. I will not return to this restaurant as there are many alternatives with better prices and better food quality. One last note: after ordering the food we were given a single poppadom broken in half with the usual sauces which felt like a 'message' given the GroupOn offer was for a 50% off dinner...
