Teto's RestaurantPosted on 29 April 2011
Great food! Great service! Great Price!
Went there on the Monday and it was so good I went back on the Thursday.
There is a special price menu - Starter, main and coffee for €17.95... On top of that you bring your own bottle - Could not be cheaper!
The service is brilliant and the waiter could not be friendlier or more helpful.
The 3 outstanding mains on the menu (In my opinion) are Lamb Meshwe, Chilli lamb and chicken Shashtouk.
The location of this restaurant means it does not get much passing trade (As it is not on main st) which is a massive pity. The interior is clean and modern but I have marked down on atmosphere as we were the only ones there on the Monday (Which I feel mean marking down). I sincerely hope that people go and give this place the chance it deserves - It is so worthwhile. Delicious!

The Beach House Restaurant (Bray)Posted on 18 January 2011
Appalling...
Arrived upstairs and no one was there to seat us. Waited a while, wandered around and finally my boyfriend located someone at the kitchen.
We both ordered beef and Guinness casserole priced at €10.95.
We waited... and waited... and waited...
No one came to explain the delay despite the fact that there was a waiter, a waitress and what appeared to be 3 senor staff or owners for only 4 tables of customers.
The food arrived and was average – Beef was tender but portions were small (For €10.95 given that elsewhere a starter, main & glass of wine is €10.95 for lunch and is, in my opinion, better).
The delay had allowed us to observe the following unforgiveable sights:-
(1) A chef at the hatch wipe his nose across the back of his hand (And no, he did not wash his hands after).
(2) The man lift the bap of the burger sitting at the hatch. This would have been ok if he had not just (Very nicely I have to say) helped a lady up the stairs with her buggy and not washed his hands. For those of you with buggies, you will be aware just how mush dirt and splatter there is around the bottom of them.
(3) And the winner is... A member of staff who plucked a chocolate chip from a muffin that was on display and eat it... and then left the muffin there.
When our plates were cleared, I was asked was everything ok. I said there was a bit of a wait and she said “The food is cooked to order”. I pointed out it was casserole and she said “It is reheated to order”. I have a microwave and it does NOT take that long to heat food... She walked off so I went to find someone so I could pay the bill.
The man took the bill and asked was everything ok– I explained no and said there was a wait and about the muffin (Never even got onto the other issues). He said he would take it on board. I may have believed him if he asked which staff member or which muffin so he could remove – he did not.
VILE – AVOID!

Gordon Ramsay @ PowerscourtPosted on 10 January 2011
Firstly - wonderful food!!!
3 of us ate there and had the 4 course taster menu at €75 pp. For what we got this represented very good value (As there were lots of treats between courses.
The food we got was as follows:-
>Steak Tartare in a warm beed consomme
> Ham knuckle and Fois Gras Terrine
> Quail and chestnot for me (Scallops for the others as I cannot eat fish! - More on that in a minute)
> Venison with purple potato, chocolate and chestnut crumble (yes chocolate) and a minature savoy cabbage stuffed with a chicken and smoked ham puree.
> Warm chocolate fondant with a liquor bon bon (The liquor had 23 different herbs and you dip into the fondant so it warms and melts)
> Petit 4s and bon bons
> Cheesecake with sugared rasberries and bitter apple sorbet...
I am salivating just recalling this... yum yum...
So now for the few small issues that reduce this from a perfect score.
> Table was not swept down following bread and starters - This should be standard silver service
> I specified I could not eat seafood (On 3 separate occasions when asked) - Yet they served me scallops. When I mentioned this they took it away and prepared me quail but they left my 2 fellow diners with their food which they had no option but to eat in front of me - This should have been cleared and all of us serverd at correct and same time.
> Drinks - Pricey. Clearly where the money is made
All in all though a real pleasure and something very special indeed

Great atmosphere and dining room...
Myself and my boyfriend brought my sister and her English boyfriend. He particularly was just charmed by the atmosphere (Especially on a cold day after a walk in Glandalough).
The food is hearty and unpretentious and service is very good (And friendly). We did wait a little for our food but I think that is because it was made fresh so no complaints here!
2 minor quibbles -
(1) The brussel sprouts were frozen (Our chef at the table spotted that)
(2) The vegetarian options are the same price as the meat options which is very unusual.
Our English guest was persuaded to try corned beef after stating he hated it (I do think he was thinking of luncheon meat though :oP) and declated himself a convert after eating it so that is a big result (After he said he has spent 40 odd tears avoiding it!)
Lovely lovely dining room and the kind of place you could go and relax for a few hours - Highly recommended.

The food is fresh and very very tasty.
The staff are super friendly and really make and effort with all of the customers.
The breakfast is great value at €6 and it is open on Sunday unlike soc many other places.
Lunch is simple but very nice. Wraps, ciabattas and soup.
Wishing all of the staff continued success.

What a shame... Went here for a special occasion on Tuesday night. The food was great but the service appalling... Our starter arrived and after an hour we were forced to ask about our main course to be told 'It's coming'... We could not help but notice that the people beside us had received their starter after us and their main course was long gone... Food arrived and was very good but still I was irritated by the lack of explanation for the delay. When we finished our dinner we were handed dessert menus and another delay ensued until I called a waiter (Who was not assigned our table) and asked him for the bill and also an explanation for why we were left sitting so long. A lady who I assume was the manageress came over and said 'Sorry but you know mistakes happen'. We explained that if we had been told it was an error we would have understood but there was no acknowledgment of the error. The manageress also told us that service is known for being prompt so sometimes the delay can seem longer than it is (I would like to point out that an hour between starter and main course is not a perceived delay... It is an extraordinary delay - on a Tuesday evening). She said that the starter had been deducted from the menu (We shared a starter). I was not really looking for anything to be deducted - just for someone to sound remotely sorry or even like they cared. We gave up and just took the bill and it was incorrect and they had overcharged us. We paid the correct amount and left. If I was the chef in this restaurant I would be heartbroken that my talent was being tainted by frankly lazy and unprofessional service (And I refer primarily to the manageress's attitude). I eat out constantly and was really let down by this experience. Not only would I not go back - I could never recommend this restaurant to anyone in good faith. *** On the 11-Sept-08 I sent an EM directly to the restaurant outlining my issues, attached this review and requested a response - I have received none ***
