Brambles Café Bistro

Brambles Café Bistro

Posted on 12 July 2009
When Brambles opened initially in Terenure we were delighted having had great lunches in their Dundrum outlet. Also, after having a new baby, venturing into restaurants in town took a lot more effort. Some months back I had lunch here and was really disappointed with a chicken ciabatta sandwich which came in a soft white roll. When I complained I was told it was a different type of ciabatta ! Waitress didn't actually know what ciabatta was so I knew it was probably going to be a bit pointless, as it was ! Anyway, gave benefit of doubt and went for dinner Fri evening. Firstly, service is awful, although they are polite enough, seems to be full of young students who are extremely inexperienced. Bread on table at start was nice although soon discovered it was stale. Goats salad starter was nice but everything else we had was awful. I had spaghetti with prawns and was swimming in butter or oil, so greasy I could taste it for rest of the evening. Don't want to rant about rest of food but all in all a final confirmation that we will not be returning.
